Fifth Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

The fifth-floor common room had been transformed into a riot of color and sound by the two intrepid decorators. When you had Rikku and Dōjima doing the artistic design, and they were basing it off of Romeo's collection of loud shirts, it was bound to be, ah, creative.

There were balloons and streamers everywhere, and the party even had some piñatas full of candy for people to swing at. Simply because everyone (Rikku) liked candy, and Dōjima was a fan of party games that made other people look like idiots.

There had been an email, and really, somehow, it seemed like only proper 'we got stuck in the past together for a week' etiquette to actually show up to someone's birthday. Which was why Jeff had arrived, looking a bit cheerful and a bit scared (in other words, looking like Jeff) and somewhat awkwardly checked out the decoration.

Ned had received the email about the party and, after some minimal debate, had decided socializing and the birthday of one of his friends won out over being a hermit. So, he was there, small present in hand.

Cal was never a very social person, but he couldn't miss stalking around the edges of a party when there was one, nonetheless.

Besides, he figured Amber-kitty would want to run around a bit and play with fallen streamers and balloons.

Turtle didn't really know Romeo too well, but a party was a party, and she was there, and she was very approving of the set-up, that was for sure.

Funny thing: Jack actually got the notice and decided, what the heck, he could be social and all. He was impressed at the decorations.

Which was... apparently some kind of big deal, which Reno didn't really understand. It wasn't even a nice, round number, or anything.

Rikku was here. It wasn't exactly arriving, since she'd helped set the whole shebang up, but she'd darted out to change into something more party-worthy, so it looked like an arrival. Anyway! Rikku was here.

Jen still didn't have the hang of this party thing, but she did show up, partly because she did fear the Wrath of Roomie if she didn't, partly because it was her common room anyway, and partly because she actually didn't think Romeo was such a bad guy.

Besides, there was food. And candy.

And . . . wow, loud decorations.

Romeo had been lured there, and was incredibly flattered and pleased by the party preparations. It was enough to get his mind away from his nicotine withdrawal.

He was just going to stand there and bask. And maybe eat some guacamole and chips. That went well with basking.

Knowing Romeo's deep-abiding love of Mexican food, Dōjima got Burrito Loco for the catering, with a totally moddable awesome selection of food. Pastries and birthday cake(s), however, are from Fina. There's also a wide range of moddable drinks: sparkling juices, punch, tea, soda... something for every taste imaginable.

After Ned had wished Romeo a happy birthday, he made his way over to the food table where he was going to stay unless pushed into going somewhere else. There was just so much food!

Reno was going to hang around the punch, a man on a mission, waiting for all the people who looked like lightweights to get at least one cup of normal punch in.

And then Reno was, in true, stealthy covert-ops-agent fashion, going to upend his bottle of Everclear into the punch bowls.

Never let it be said that Reno wasn't a charitable sort of guy.

All the various and sundry punches have been spiked, but there's still other (non-alcoholic) drinks for those unwilling to brave the Mystery Brew, not to mention all the food.

Ned dropped off a small gift (http://www.amazon.com/When-All-Hell-Breaks-Loose/dp/142360105X/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1226418887&sr=8-2) he thought might be helpful and a card that let Romeo know Ned would bake him the pie of his choice whenever he wanted it.
