Third floor common room, Sunday afternoon

Staying in her room was just making Jaina feel ickier, and she didn't do well with that sort of thing. She wasn't nearly as bad as she was yesterday, just blah-feeling. Which meant that after she'd gotten everything done she needed to for now, she camped out on a sofa and started flipping channels.

And remembered why it was that she'd never really watched TV to begin with. Sunday was boring.

Lois was coming back from a jog in the park when she spotted Jaina in the common room.

"Hey," Lois said. She flopped down into a chair and opened up the bottle of water she had with her. "Anything good on?"

"Sports I don't care about, people making food, and not much else," Jaina said, frowning at the TV. "It fails today."

"It's a common occurrence on a Sunday," Lois agreed. "I assume by sports you don't care about you mean football. Normally I'd hold that against a person but since you're not from around here I'll forgive you."

"Thanks," she said with a little smile. "I know some about football, but apparently not enough to keep me on that channel for more than a minute." She held up the remote and asked, "Want to try?"

Sunday was always boring. Temari nodded to the other girl, sitting down and hoping maybe the television would prove entertaining.

Jaina hadn't really seen Temari during the whole Soap Opera thing, bu she'd heard radio. And now she wasn't sure whether or not to feel weird about this. "How's it going?" she tried.

Temari had decided the entire weekend was a horrible dream and had happily repressed it. So it was up to Jaina, really.

"It's cold," She said, as though that was a crime against nature.

"Not a fan of it, huh?" she guessed. "I mean, it could be worse."

John smiled at the girl he wasn't sure if he'd talked to before or not.

The only signal she saw him was a slight widening of eyes and then prompt ignoring of his very existence.

This island was just cruel.

John rolled his eyes. Some people were just plain rude. "Hey there! How're you today?"

It was always a happy occasion to see her around, indeed.

"Sparkles," Temari replied, grinning faintly at him.

"So, how's it going?"

After spending a long time in the Flight Shed, John paused on his way to Jaina's room when he spotted people in the common area.

"Ladies," he said, taking a seat and making sure to send a pointed look towards Ms. I'm Not Sick, Really.

Jaina wasn't sure why he was looking at her like that, then winced. "I'm sorry," she said. "I stood you up, didn't I?"

"You did," he said. "But it's okay, I ran through a bunch of programs on my own. Now you get to tell me what was better than flying with me."

"I overslept," she said apologetically. "How'd you do?"

Cal, returning to his trend of being oddly social, found a common room full of people and actually came in, mostly because it was very weird and surreal to have been in the gym earlier, and yet not see Jaina except in a 'normal' setting like this.

"Let me guess," he commented as he came in, unceremoniously, and plopped into a chair. "There's nothing on."

"Of course," she said, and added teasingly, "I'm sorry, are we both in a common room?"

"I know," Cal widened his eyes, holding up his hands and shaking them ever so slightly as an indication of the inevitable chaos this would cause, "crazy. Maybe this freakery is expected to make up for the lack of quality programming on the television."

"Maybe. You planning on entertaining us?"

"Hey," John said, smiling pleasantly at the other boy in the room. "There's never anything on, is there?"

Cal lifted a hand in greeting back. "Not on Sundays, anyway," he muttered.

He wasn't about to admit that not on Sundays meant because it's not Monday, since a certain show that he wasn't getting interested in, really, honestly, truly, was on Mondays.

"Worst day of the week for TV, unless you manage to record stuff." Like John did. Because heaven forbid he miss an episode of Rumor Gal.
