Third Floor Common Room [evening]

Kaylee honestly didn't understand this whole Thanksgiving thing beyond 'there'll be lots of food.' It was fairly archaic in her time, after all, and it wasn't like she'd been formally educated in history.

She was trying to do some research, as best she could, but rather than do something intelligent like either asking someone who might know something more about the holiday or, you know, cracking a book, she'd found something on television.

She didn't know how something could be semi-homemade, and why that woman was so...terrifying, but for some reason, she couldn't look away. Well, mostly. She could look down at her lap to check that Popples wasn't getting ready to run away or anything, since she'd figured this was as good an opportunity as any to get her new pet out to visit places other than her room.

"There aren't enough credits in the galaxy to get me that excited about gluing things to other things," Ben said.

"And we can cross that career path off your list of possibilities," she said. "Darn."

"I know I'm upset," Ben said, nodding. "It leaves me with...everything else."

"And you won't end up with people watching you and wondering what's up with your hair," she pointed out.

"There's nothing wrong with my hair!" Ben yelped, yanking at his braid.

"I didn't say here was," she said, looking a little amused. "You can relax."

His lower lip was out in a sadly familiar pout. "The braid stays," he said stubbornly.

"Okay. Keep it," Jaina shrugged. "Kind of attached to it, huh?"

"It's my hair, so yes," Ben teased.

Almost reflexively, she moved to try and lightly flick his ear for that.

And because it was Jaina, he let her.

It didn't mean he hadn't reached for a pillow to retaliate with, though.

She didn't do a very good job of swatting it away, due to it being a pillow. "Hey. That was not mature behavior." Ear-flicking was.

"And ear-flicking is?" Ben laughed, then tried to flick her ear. "I'm glad I can learn from you!"

Jaina ducked. Which worked because Jaina was shorter. Life wasn't fair. "I'm older," she said, which was totally a valid defense.

"I'm better looking," Ben replied, because that was equally valid.

"I'm more popular." Said she who had her little harem of guys in two galaxies.

Ben tossed a pillow at her. "Like I really want to spend more time with Zekk."
