Self-Defense Club, The Gym, Monday Afternoon

"I figured we could use some activity after eating all that turkey over the weekend," said Hoshi, passing out a handout on taekwondo stances. "Today, we'll be working more with taekwondo, a form of martial arts that is derived from Korea, as opposed to the Japanese karate. We'll start with the stances on the handout, and if you're feeling more adventurous, try a couple of the kicks."

Amber skipped right on over to him. "You're seriously not trying to hide behind that cup, right?"

"Er...no? I'm just, um, keeping my hands warm."

Yah, sure.

"So... how was your trip back?"

Let's just avoid any talk of awkward happenings during the trip out.

"It was fine," she smirked. "How was yours?"

"It was great. I hung out with the guys, had some turkey, got to fly," he nodded. "The trip back was great. Really great."

"Yah? That's great."

A beat.

"How was Loretta?"

he muttered as he dropped his head down.

"She's ... kinda different."

He peeked at her a bit from the corner of his eye.

"You did try to warn me though."

"Yah, I kind of did," she said, reaching over to pat his hand.

"It's okay. Hardly anyone has ever been able to tell Loretta no."

He snorted a little. "Yah, I can see why. When she's out grabbin' people..."

Ah, ooops? Maybe he shouldn't have included that last bit.

"Uh, never mind that that last. It's fine. All good."

Though he was wondering what in the world to tell Abby Irene.

"It's okay, ma kind of told me everything," she said, trying not to giggle.

Oh great. That just makes it so much better.

He groaned a bit.

"I hope she didn't tell you too much of everything. I don't know what I was thinkin'. I guess I was tired. And the whiskey probably didn't help," he muttered.

Better that Amber didn't mention that yeah, she knew everything.

"It'll be alright, Murdock. Loretta's probably moved on by now and I won't mention a think to Abby Irene."

Well that sort of made him feel better.

"Thanks. I don't know what I'm going to tell her."

She'd probably not think much of it, all things considered, but still. It bothered him even if wouldn't bother her.

"So don't tell her," Amber said, thinking that might be the best. "Kind of like what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Except Mount Rose, you know?"

"Erm...I dunno 'bout that. What ever happened to 'honesty is the best policy?'"

Yah, he'd probably tell her either way.

Amber stared at him. Seriously? He slept with another chick and he's preaching honesty here.

Course Loretta was kind of hard to resist.

"Um. Yah, I don't know."

"I'd rather have her know about it upfront instead of hearing 'bout it later. Ya know?"

He shrugged just a bit. "I just don't want to mess things up with her."

Amber nodded. "I get that. You just tell her that a woman got you drunk and you passed out." A beat. "Think that will work?"

He smirked a little. "It might."

Who knows? She might even think it amusing.

"If you need me to back anything up, lie, cheat, steal, you just let me know," she said, grinning, seriously trying to be helpful however.

That made him laugh. "I'll keep that in mind," he giggled.

He grinned at her.

"Thanks Amber."

"You betcha. And hey, if anything, at least you walk away from this knowing you were good in the sack."

His laugh turned into a cough, though he was still smirking.

"Yah, okay."

Cause that didn't sound awkward at all coming from her.
