Fourth Floor Common Room - Sunday Afternoon

Emmett had spent most of the night exploring the dorms and enjoying being able to walk around without the smell of humans being too overpowering. He was thinking about going into town but decided to pace himself when it came to exploring. If he saw everything too fast then he got bored and when he got bored he tended to make houses out of cardboard and play "General Sherman is burnin' everything" in the yard with Jasper (well, Emmett played. Jasper glared). He had the feeling burning the dorms down by accident would be frowned upon. So around 5 am he staked out a place in the common room and started to watch TV.

Now there was football on! Emmett had his ass on the couch, a football in his hand and was watching the Dolphins playing the Ravens. Then the Eagles were playing the Vikings at 4:30. God, he loved Sundays. He was tossing the football quickly between his two hands but making sure it was at a human's pace just in case anyone came in.

"Oh! So you watch gossip as it happens?" Adora repeated to her understanding. "That doesn't sound very friendly at all. Can you see the third floor gossip?"

"It's all fake. Well, unless it's reality TV but that's debatable," she told her. "People write scripts and act it out, and we get to watch. I can't see the third floor. Though that might be cool..." She wondered if there was anyone on the third floor she'd want to spy on.

"That sounds an awful lot like the plays the Twiggets put on." And much easier for Adora's mind to cope with.

Brooke's eyebrows raised. "The Twiggets? What's that, like a band?"

"They are a group of small people who dwell in the Whispering Woods...back on my home planet?" Adora definitely sounded worried to be sharing that she was not of Earth.

This is what happened when your talking horse and stories of evil freaked people out.

Brooke had long ago learned that if she didn't roll with it, she was just gonna go crazy. So witness her rolling with it. "You watch plays put on by treehuggers?"

Adora just might love this girl for that. "Yes! Only they don't hug the trees so much as take care of them. Are there plays here as well?"

"Yeah. I think there's some place in town that puts them on now and then. I don't think there are trees involved, though." She seemed to be stuck on that part.

Adora laughed at the image. "It would be funny if they did. I can't see the trees here being very useful in a play."

"There are Jedi trees, you know. Maybe as props? They just won't win any awards."

"Stumpbacca? There are awards for bravery in acting?" Adora was in awe of Brooke and her amazing knowledge. Also, her hair was very shiny.

"Not bravery, but performance. They give a bunch of people awards for acting in movies I've never heard of, and it's all really boring. I just watch for the clothes," she admitted.

"I'm getting the idea that clothes are very important here," Adora replied slowly. "My new friend, Blair has promised to take me clothes shopping."

"Haven't met her yet," Brooke said, "but she throws great parties, so I'd trust her with clothes. And after yesterday, I think they're a lot less important than they were before and that hurts me." Damn you Claudia.

"Hurts? Are you a seamstress of some sort?" Perhaps she was magical.

"I'm a designer." That was still awesome to say. "I make most of the clothes right now, at least till I can expand and get a factory or a sweatshop or whatever."

She wasn't serious about the sweatshop.

"That's very impressive! Do you sell your wares? I should ask Blair to take me to your shop," Adora decided.

Hee. Wears. "I don't have a shop yet," she said. "I've been selling myself online. It's a pretty popular site, too."

"Oh, can I go to online and see your clothing?" Adora wondered. "Do you think Manhattan royalty would approve of it?"

"Yes, and they'd better," Brooke said, and then frowned. "Wait. Manhattan doesn't have royalty." She was pretty sure on that.

"Oh, but my big sister, Blair is Manhattan Royalty," Adora corrected. "Maybe she is from a different Earth. I was told there are a few represented here."

"Maaaaybe," Brooke said slowly, though she wasn't sure she bought that. "Let's go with that."
