Fourth Floor Common Room - Sunday Afternoon

Emmett had spent most of the night exploring the dorms and enjoying being able to walk around without the smell of humans being too overpowering. He was thinking about going into town but decided to pace himself when it came to exploring. If he saw everything too fast then he got bored and when he got bored he tended to make houses out of cardboard and play "General Sherman is burnin' everything" in the yard with Jasper (well, Emmett played. Jasper glared). He had the feeling burning the dorms down by accident would be frowned upon. So around 5 am he staked out a place in the common room and started to watch TV.

Now there was football on! Emmett had his ass on the couch, a football in his hand and was watching the Dolphins playing the Ravens. Then the Eagles were playing the Vikings at 4:30. God, he loved Sundays. He was tossing the football quickly between his two hands but making sure it was at a human's pace just in case anyone came in.

[Open, yes. I hope Miami wins...I think I jinxed them omg]

There was a big fellow in the common room but, at the moment, he was the only one in there so he just looked that much bigger.

And this was coming from Ned, a tall boy in his own right.

For a moment, he just stared before he snapped out of it and shuffled in, careful to stay out of the large fellow's reach. Just in case.

"Hello," he said. Mumbled.

"I live down two floors but sometimes I come up here if I'm bored so I don't know if you've lived up here the entire time or if you're new," Ned said. "So, you're new to me either way."

There was a very very tall person in his common room. One that didn't have long hair or a bald cat. Teddy confused!

"Hello?"

[identity profile] notthehulk.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I'm not a big football fan," Teddy said, looking over at the television. "You new here?"

Kaylee was bored (or lonely) enough to wander out of her room and up a floor to see if anyone was actually moving around up there.

"Oh, it's that game!" she said excitedly when she saw the TV.

Look, she didn't know what it was called.

[identity profile] weefeetbigboots.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right. With the lemony-lookin' ball," she replied, nodding in understanding or at least a vague approximation of it.

In search of people, Brooke would up two floors up, tilting her head at the screen. "Football season's still not over yet, huh?"
gobrookeyourself: (talky)

[personal profile] gobrookeyourself 2009-01-04 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm not huge into sports or anything, but I used to cheer for basketball, so I know what's going on better," she said. "Football you kind of just take a ball and run till you fall down."

Wandering the dorms to see what alternative showering options there were (talking furniture was one thing, a shower head that recommended extra rinsing was too much), Adora was intrigued by the noise in the room by the stairs.

She was even more amazed to see that the room was equipped with a view screen. Only Hordak ever possessed any of those, such curious devices that he used to watch the Rebels. "Is there a reason for observing these poor people?"

[identity profile] fabulous-secret.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Adora was even more confused, but Emmett was such a nice boy, she was certain he couldn't mean harm to the people on the viewscreen. "Why would you observe them playing a game? Shouldn't you simply join them?"
gobrookeyourself: (pretty girl)

[personal profile] gobrookeyourself 2009-01-04 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, she had to be really new. "Entertainment," Brooke answered. "Sort of."

[identity profile] fabulous-secret.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hordak, too watched his viewscreen for entertainment with evil, nefarious purposes.

"Oh! Do you watch this screen often?"

"They're doin' it so that we'll watch," Kaylee assured her. "It ain't like they don't know."

[identity profile] fabulous-secret.livejournal.com 2009-01-04 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"That's very reassuring," Adora told her with a smile. "I'm afraid I've a lot to understand about the things here. Did it take you long?" She held such hope that this girl was not of Earth.

After hanging in his room for a bit, Adam decided to venture on down to the common room. Maybe there was some newbies about that he had yet to meet.

And that's when he saw the coffee table break. "I'm guessing the football game didn't go as well as you'd hoped?" Adam half-joked. "Maybe there's another one around here somewhere." He wouldn't be surprised if another coffee table just suddenly appeared. It was Fandom, after all. "Maybe? It couldn't hurt to try."

[Because I couldn't resist and also, poor Miami.]

Brooke looked surprised for a moment, then figured he probably just had super strength or something. He looked built for it.

So she just sing-songed, "Emmett broooooke iiiiiit."

Teddy and Galliano stared at the poor broken table. After the conversation about pets with Emmett, he felt bad that the guy didn't have one and yet was so excited to hear about them so...

Insane, giant cat to the rescue!

"Are you okay?"

Éowyn had decided to take some time to explore the dormitory, and she was about to regard it as blissfully quiet when she heard a loud noise come from one of the rooms. Peering inside, she looked around for the source, expecting to see people who were injured. "Is everyone all right?"
