2nd Floor Common Room, Monday morning

No classes today combined with new students, meant Johnny was in the common room playing with fire. Mainly just bouncing fire balls back and forth from one hand to the next.

He was relaxed (back from an awesome island trip) and in a good mood. ESPN was broadcasting a motocross race, and he was pretty damn content.

Because, well, whatever. She wasn't talking to Ichigo right now anyway, so it didn't matter on her part beyond making sure she wasn't causing issues for Johnny.

"She'd be totally cool with it," he said, especially given his gift to her over their break. "But I'll let her know so all's well."

"Then we're completely good for this, yes," she said, with a grin. "Because, seriously, who knows what radio would say 'bout that, right?"

Oh. Radio. This shouldn't bother him. Besides, radio said all kinds of shit about him and Savannah just overlooked it. Squirrels were crazy.

"Seriously. But no problem, Ino."

A beat.

"Uh, you dating anyone right now?"

[intraspective]

"Sort of?" she said, wrinkling her nose. "Though who knows right now 'cause we had a fight on Friday and I haven't seen him since, so..."

Whatever.

"So... like he's not going to come after me for taking you out?"

He was taking her out right? Um.

"I don't think so..." she said slowly, "I mean, if he does, it won't be like anything happened, or whatever, so I'll have total reason to say he shouldn't be doing that."

"What'd you guys fight about?"

[intraspective]

"A shirt," she said grumpily. "Which he had no business touching."

Johnny raised his brows. "Did he touch this shirt when it was, um, on you?"

"No," she said, "it wasn't like that, seriously, it was in my closet."

"Then what was the big deal?" he asked simply.

[intraspective]

"It was Kabuto's," she said, tugging her feet up under her. "He's not allowed to touch them."

They were hers.

"Ah," he said, not sure he understood that. But she was a girl, so that explained a lot.

"And I take it he overracted?"

[intraspective]

"He wouldn't stop touching it."

Which, yeah. Ino hadn't taken well.

Which was strange. "I don't get why he'd be interested in it."

She shrugged a bit. "He'd just turned back from being a fox for almost two weeks. Wanting clothing. And didn't think to, you know, ask me to go get him some."

"Ah," he said, again. "So you told him no and he played jealous and there was fighting?"

[intraspective]

"He didn't get it," she admitted, flushing a bit, "didn't really tell him it was Kabuto's 'cause, you know, it's not something I was in the mood to explain when he wouldn't quit touching the shirt. So there was fighting, and then he stalked out in a huff wearing nothing but a sheet."

"Yeah, that kind of sucks," Um, he really wasn't sure what to say about that. "He'll come around. If it was me I would be damn curious and maybe, I don't know, maybe you should tell him?"

[intraspective]

"Maybe," she said, frowning a little. "I don't know. I might've even then, though I wouldn't have liked it, if he'd just let it go. But he wasn't listening, so I stopped thinking."

A short laugh. "Bad habit, I guess."

"If he wasn't listening then it's his own damn fault," Johnny said. "Wait till he comes around and says he's sorry. Or at least admits he was wrong."

[intraspective]

"I guess, yeah? I don't know. I don't like waiting 'round for things, and it really bugs me that he just, wouldn't, put the shirt down when I first told him. 'Cause I wasn't joking 'round at all."

"Then take care of it," he said, giving her a look.

She sulked at him.

"Yeah, yeah."
