Third Floor Common Room - Thursday Afternoon

Chuck wasn't feeling particularly social but he was feeling hungry, which was why he was watching TV out in the common room today rather than his room. There was a Girls Next Door marathon on Chuck relaxed on the couch and caught up on what Kendra, Holly and Bridget were up to. He was dressed more casually than usual and that allowed him to take up as much of the couch as he possibly could. To help fix the hungriness, he even managed to make a bowl of popcorn without catching it on fire.

Ignore the other two burnt bags of popcorn in the trash. Shh.

"Hey Angela," Hurley said. "How ya doing?"

Angela shrugged. "Considering it's the first week back in classes? Really pretty good."

"You taking nicely to the new term?"

"Yeah," Hurley said. "I'm in a food class that's awesome."

"The food appreciation one?" she asked, assuming that would be the one he was talking about. "What do you even do in that?"

"Basically, we eat food and appreciate it," Hurley said.

"...I officially picked the wrong classes," Angela decided.

Hurley chuckled. "What ones are you taking?"

"Uh, child development, literature, and movie appreciation," Angela listed for him. "Not a bad group, I don't think."

"Child development?" Hurley said. "Really?"

Angela nodded. "One of those things you hope will come in useful when you're older. Which is more than you can say about some classes I've taken."

"Heh," Hurley said. "Yeah, I know my survival skills will come in real handy when I end up.. stranded somewhere." He laughed.

"And that's one of the ones you don't want to need to use," Angela said with a chuckle. "But I guess, better that you know the stuff, just in case, right?"

"Right," Hurley said.

"Hey... can I ask you a question?"

"Uh, sure," Angela said with a nod. "Go ahead."

"Like... how do you know when you, like... like like a person?" Hurley asked.

"When you like a person," Angela repeated, smiling thoughtfully. "I think it's probably different for everyone," she said. "But there's just a feeling, you know." She tapped her chest, as if that might actually help in her explanation. "It's difficult to explain."

She looked at him a little curiously. "Why'd you ask?"

"Kinda... think I... like someone," Hurley said.

Angela smiled a little brighter. Aww! She was a great supported of new love, as always.

"If you think you do, it usually means you do," she supplied helpfully.

"Man," Hurley said. "This would be so easier if... nevermind."

"Easier if what?" Angela pressed carefully.

"Nevermind," Hurley said. "It's... complicated."

"Sweetie, it's always complicated," Angela said sympathetically. "But it's sometimes better if you at least talk to someone about it, and I am offering."

"...She's kinda engaged," Hurley said.

"Engaged?" She frowned. That was less good. "Okay, more complicated than most," she allowed. "She's our age?"

"Yeah," Hurley said. "She is."
