It had taken a few moments to figure out the DVD player, but Merlin did as he was told and just pushed buttons until it worked. It was a surprisingly good method.

He sat back, ready to watch this porno thing that Emmett had said would be interesting.

And in the first five minutes, he couldn't quite understand the draw of this sort of entertainment. It was only like Morgana and Gwen in the fact that they looked vaguely similar. The way they talked and the room they were in certainly didn't look like any castle he'd ever seen. And, really, those dresses were just terribly impractical for a lady or a servant. They must be terribly cold--

Merlin's eyes went very big as the dress issue was solved and they ladies started kissing. The only sound he made was the verbal equivalent of a keysmash.

"It's not," Tony said, then reconsidered. "Okay, maybe the ones on Showtime. And I have no idea. I don't know much about what girls do."

Merlin just gave him a look like a kicked puppy. "And they don't care if everyone sees them?"

"No, they're getting paid for it," Tony said, trying to sound sympathetic. "They're... kind of like actors. They're putting on a show for the camera."

"But there are--" He flailed for a word.

Breasts! And thighs! BARE ONES.

"Yeah," Tony said. "It's kind of the point of porn."

"People watch this often?"

"Well, yeah," Tony said. He didn't really want to admit right now that he had his own small collection of such films. Though his didn't have any girls in them. "It's, you know, porn. Don't they have, like, dirty pictures or something in Camelot?"

"Pictures are very different than that," Merlin pointed out.

"Well, yeah," Tony admitted. "But it's the same idea, just with modern technology."

Merlin glanced back at the television. "Is it all women doing... these things?"

"Oh, no," Tony said. "You can get men with women, men with men, groups, all kinds of things. If someone's got a kink, there's probably porn of it."

That was both illuminating and terrifying.

"And people have no problem with this?"

"Some people do," Tony admitted. "There's people who think it's evil or that the women are being exploited," never the men, really, "or that it's just tacky."

"Oh." Merlin was staring at the screen now. "They don't look exploited."

They looked happy to him.

"Well," Tony said. "They make a lot of money doing that."

Merlin nodded slowly, looking away finally. "...does this happen a lot here?"

He certainly hoped so.

"Do you mean on TV or in real life?"

"I mean the watching... on accident."

"This is the first time I know of," Tony said. "Didn't it come in a case? With pictures? They usually do."

Merlin looked at the blank case. "It just had a title. A Midsummer Knight's Cream."

Yes, Merlin felt nothing was wrong with that.

"Yeah, okay, you couldn't have known, but that's totally a porn title," Tony said.

"Really?" He was certain it had been about making butter.

Merlin was also an idiot.

"Are they all named like that?"

"They're always... suggestive," Tony said. He didn't think Merlin was an idiot. He'd just learned that movies existed; how could he know about porn? "'Cream' is sometimes slang for, uh..." he groped for a term that wouldn't require too much explanation, "sexual dampness?"

"Oooh." Merlin made a face. "That's disgusting."

Tony gave him a wry grin. "Yeah, most porn titles get that reaction."
