It had taken a few moments to figure out the DVD player, but Merlin did as he was told and just pushed buttons until it worked. It was a surprisingly good method.

He sat back, ready to watch this porno thing that Emmett had said would be interesting.

And in the first five minutes, he couldn't quite understand the draw of this sort of entertainment. It was only like Morgana and Gwen in the fact that they looked vaguely similar. The way they talked and the room they were in certainly didn't look like any castle he'd ever seen. And, really, those dresses were just terribly impractical for a lady or a servant. They must be terribly cold--

Merlin's eyes went very big as the dress issue was solved and they ladies started kissing. The only sound he made was the verbal equivalent of a keysmash.

"There aren't any other wizards around here, right?" asked Harper.

"I don't think so," Merlin replied. "I haven't met any other."

"Okay," said Harper. "So, there's squirrels who collect notes for the radio, there's gremlins who bite, and there's a student who's a wizard. Otherwise, everything else here is normal."

She was so wrong.

Merlin just nodded in hopes that she was right. "The squirrels aren't so bad."

"I haven't really had any issues with them, except for what they've said a few times about my clothes. I consider myself to be quite fashionable in my own unique way," said Harper.

Today, for example, she was wearing her dangling earrings made from the plastic green army men she had bought at the resale store.

"It's very--" Merlin nodded. "--unique!"

He was certainly trying here!

"I make a lot of my own clothing and accessories. In fact, I was asked to help with costumes for the play," said Harper, sounding very proud of herself.

"Dinah's in that!" Merlin said with a grin. "And Lord Leto."

Less of a grin.

"I've met Dinah! She's nice. Haven't met Lord Leto yet, though," said Harper, frowning slightly. "Is his name really Lord Leto?"

"It's Leto Atreides," Merlin replied. "But he's Arthur's roommate and a lord, so..."

"Oooh, and he's a lord? Cool! I didn't know we were getting royalty and stuff going to this school," said Harper, all excited.
