It had taken a few moments to figure out the DVD player, but Merlin did as he was told and just pushed buttons until it worked. It was a surprisingly good method.

He sat back, ready to watch this porno thing that Emmett had said would be interesting.

And in the first five minutes, he couldn't quite understand the draw of this sort of entertainment. It was only like Morgana and Gwen in the fact that they looked vaguely similar. The way they talked and the room they were in certainly didn't look like any castle he'd ever seen. And, really, those dresses were just terribly impractical for a lady or a servant. They must be terribly cold--

Merlin's eyes went very big as the dress issue was solved and they ladies started kissing. The only sound he made was the verbal equivalent of a keysmash.

"It could be worse," Merlin said, leaning just a little bit to make sure he didn't leave a bruise. Slowly this time.

"Oh trust me, I know. You don't want to be around me and sports equipment," she said with a sigh. "...Or on a stage."

Merlin chuckled. "You should see when Arthur insists I help him with his sword work."

Her eyes widened. "That sounds dangerous. We are talking about the guy who can't tie his own shoes, right?"

She was resolutely ignoring the ....that on the tv, while she tried to fit the batteries back into the remote properly. Well, trying to ignore.

Ignoring was easier when there was conversation!

"He can, he just chooses not to because he's royalty."

"Hunh." Francine chewed on that one. "Nice work if you can get it, I guess. I think I'd still tie my own shoes though. If I was a princess or something."

"If you were a princess, you'd have handmaidens to take care of all that for you," Merlin replied with a grin.

Sadly, that just redirected Francine's attention to places she was trying to avoid. Like the tv screen. "I....think there are some things I'd want to do for myself!"

...That probably didn't come out right.

Merlin's focus followed suit and...

"Oh."

"Oh God, that's not what I meant. Or...something. I dunno. Gah." Francine sighed in lieu of flailing, and jammed the battery cover back on the remote.
