Third Floor Common Room, Tuesday Afternoon

After completing his go at Gun Club, Arthur returned to the dorms only to realise he didn't much feel like dealing with Leto yet. He'd come up with a proper revenge later. Right now, he craved a chance to sit somewhere, to fight off the sense that was dawning in the wake of yesterday's upset. He sat, and idly considered the Teevee.

Maybe she's just afraid to lose a friend, Merlin had said, and while Arthur was not going to stretch as far as to call her that aloud, he had to admit that the expression on her face had... seemed...

It was easier, dealing with sorcerers, when all you did was distract Father and find them quick shelter elsewhere. Here, there was little escape from them. No matter what he did, they would remain, and the honest truth was that he bore them very little ill will.

Wasn't his father. He'd seen too much damage caused by it not to be wary, but...

Of course, that made him think of Liir. He wasn't going to let thought of his conduct around him make him cringe.

So he sat. Subdued. Thinking.

After a week of being mostly alone, Firekeeper was feeling... actually somewhat social, strangely enough. Blind Seer followed along, mostly in the hopes that the fridge contained something good.

"Hello," she greeted the room, trying not to look too amused as Blind Seer headed immediately for the fridge and started nosing around.

"Arthur," she returned. "You look," she frowned, trying to find the right words, "as if you run a troubling trail."

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Firekeeper snorted, clearly not believing him. She knew brooding when she saw it. "I only say such because I know something of running strange trails myself," she offered.

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
She gave him a look right back. "One where for all your skill at the hunt, you are not sure what lies at the end of it. Like a wolf who is told she must go live with the Two-legs, for a time."

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Firekeeper nodded. "This," she said. "So this wolf, or this knight, they must decide- find the end of this trail, or cringe from it?"

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"You not seem like the type," Firekeeper agreed with a little smile of her own.

Arthur reminded her a little of Sapphire, which was reason enough for her to like him. "Is such. In this place, I think we not run out of strange trails for a long time, yet."

"Hello," Romeo returned, warily stepping away from the wolf. "Is he hungry?"

Look, some things were more important than his personal woe.

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Very," Firekeeper grinned. "We have a class, with food, but a wolf's belly is not made for cheese."
withoutverona: (i just don't know)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-03 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, I wouldn't imagine it would be," Romeo said. "I suspect there's some raw meat in there, somewhere."

He frowned a little. "I'm Romeo Montague, by the way. I';m not sure we've met."

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"I not think so," Firekeeper agreed. "We was having a class together, but," she shrugged, "we not talk to each other there. I am being called Blysse... Norwood," she said, adding the second name after only a slight hesitation, and leaving aside entirely the matter of the 'Kestrel'.
withoutverona: (here's how i see it)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-03 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Blysse," Romeo repeated. "That's right, it's hard not to notice the wolf. It's odd -- a year here and I still find new people to meet."

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"I have only beened here a few moonspans, but I find this true also," Firekeeper agreed. "And 'the wolf', he is having a name too. Blind Seer."
withoutverona: (romeo romeo!)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-03 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course," Romeo nodded. "Does Blind Seer talk?"

It was entirely possible in Fandom.

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"He speak, yes," Firekeeper nodded. "In the manner of Beasts, not in human tongue. But he understand your words well enough."
withoutverona: (Default)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-03 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Romeo turned to Blind Seer. "I have not caused any offense, have I?"

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"He did not call me a pet, though that is the usual human assumption," Blind Seer commented, looking up at Romeo from where he had, indeed, found something palatable.

"He say, you not call him a pet, like so many others is doing," Firekeeper translated dutifully. "And, we is knowing that the wolves most humans see, they is only Cousins. Dumber. So, you would not be knowing he could speak."
withoutverona: (white t-shirt)

[personal profile] withoutverona 2009-03-03 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"He's too grand to be a pet," Romeo said, once he'd translated Blysse's speech pattern. "Why is Blind Seer different from wolves I would have seen in the zoo?"

[identity profile] kestrelswolf.livejournal.com 2009-03-03 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Royal Beasts is stronger and smarter than Cousins," Firekeeper explained. "With wolves, they is bigger, too." And Blind Seer was, indeed, about a head or so taller than the average wolf.
