After completing his go at Gun Club, Arthur returned to the dorms only to realise he didn't much feel like dealing with Leto yet. He'd come up with a proper revenge later. Right now, he craved a chance to sit somewhere, to fight off the sense that was dawning in the wake of yesterday's upset. He sat, and idly considered the Teevee.

Maybe she's just afraid to lose a friend, Merlin had said, and while Arthur was not going to stretch as far as to call her that aloud, he had to admit that the expression on her face had... seemed...

It was easier, dealing with sorcerers, when all you did was distract Father and find them quick shelter elsewhere. Here, there was little escape from them. No matter what he did, they would remain, and the honest truth was that he bore them very little ill will.

Wasn't his father. He'd seen too much damage caused by it not to be wary, but...

Of course, that made him think of Liir. He wasn't going to let thought of his conduct around him make him cringe.

So he sat. Subdued. Thinking.

"Annulment," Romeo agreed, not quite taking the bait. "The paperwork will take a few days, but it should be done by week's end at the latest. Thoughtful of you to think of a gift, but, really, none is necessary."

He might have failed at the not taking the bait thing.

"Joy, I'll save my money for something better, then," he said and made a face. "A whole week of marriage. Gonna make it one to last? That's what I'd do."

Oh, don't be such an ass, Hannibal.

Romeo glared. "Actually the papers cannot be processed too soon for me, fair as Angela is."

Hannibal curled his fingers against his palm but kept a blank passive expression on his face. "She is, I know. I think I know her better than you do but hey, what the hell do I know, she didn't marry me. I must have been an idiot all these months."

"I know you know her better than I do," Romeo said, trying not to scowl. He was in the wrong, after all. "I don't think you were an idiot for months, just that we were larger ones for all of an hour."

"Well, you know, when faced with getting to marry someone, sometimes the brain forgets what the hell's the right thing to do and goes into idiot mode," he said snippily, proving that he had no idea what he was talking about. "Did you have fun, at least, Romeo? Getting married and all?"

"Until we woke up and realized how badly we had hurt people we cared for, yes," Romeo allowed, an edge in his voice. "On the whole, I wish we'd gotten tattoos."

"Should've done them both," he said, forcing brightness into his voice to keep the sulk out. "Man, too bad you're annulling it. I would have loved to see you crazy kids give it a go. Ah, my heart, she sighs. Realizing you hurt someone after the fact sucks, doesn't it?"

Hannibal...really shouldn't be talking.

Romeo's gaze was sharp, not backing down. "I think we can agree on that. My closest friend told me it was cruel, and I'm sure others could come up with worse words."

[OOC: Crashing out for a nap! Later!]

"Cruel's a good word." It could probably be used to describe what he was doing to certain parties. "I would go with idiotic, myself, but you know, what the hell do I know? I'm just the roommate."

"Idiotic's the better word, but I'll take any you want to use," Romeo said. "Though it seems as though there's little profit in talking to you, just now, beyond saying once again that we never meant to hurt anyone."

"You didn't hurt me," he felt the need to say even if it was a lie. "I just think it was really freaking dumb and I feel the need to say that. Because it was."

Such a dummy.

"But, consequences, who needs 'em?"

"My girlfriend won't look me in the eyes, my best friend thinks I'm cruel, and I think Ino is going to kill me in my sleep," Romeo recounted, rolling his eyes just a little at how incredibly pissy Hannibal was being. "And I must talk to lawyers. I'm facing consequences, Hannibal, don't worry about that."

"Right." He deflated and felt the need to just bash his head against something once again. "Lawyers, huh?"

"Annulment paperwork," Romeo said bitterly. "She's from one universe, I'm from another, the ship was in a third, and she's from the past. It's harder than you would think."

"I'm never getting married," he said and laughed ruefully.

"Wise man. If I ever do it again" -- because, face it, he was Romeo and he would -- "it'll be at noon and I'll be as sober as a judge."

"Just...don't marry Angela, again," he said, trying to make his tone teasing even if he kind of meant it.

"I don't think she'd have me," Romeo answered, shaking his head. "Don't worry on that score."
