Fifth Floor Common Room; Friday Evening [ 03/06 ].

Turtle was thinking that maybe she should have something exciting or interesting to do on a Friday but...well, she kind of didn't. She did, however, need to get away from that stupid, drooling dog for just a little bit, so she took a book and drifted down to the common room. She made some hot cocoa and curled up on the corner of the couch.

However, CNN on was on the background, so she kept getting distracted from reading, especially in watching the little ticker go by at the bottom of the screen.

"I would think," she offered, "that the p-people have little to do with the setting?"

Hurley paused. "But the people in a place, like, effect how you feel and stuff."

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes," she said agreeably. "Though I d-don't know that I understand how the weather matters with the people? People can make a p-place happier, but if the weather is bad, then the weather is bad?"

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah," Hurley said. "But people can help distract from the weather. Or... I dunno, you're probably right and I'm just crazy."

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
That got a soft laugh. "Or maybe it's simply c-confusion and we're both right in some way."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Probably," Hurley said. "Oh, I started that book. I... kinda actually like it."

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
She grinned.

Kiba would consider that blackmail material enough for a year. Hinata didn't think so. "I've read them," she said, nodding her head. "They're f-fun."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," Hurley said. "And who needs more than fun from their books, right?"

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"At least," she amended, "the b-books you read for leisure."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, good point," Hurley said. "Though I kinda try to avoid books for other stuff."

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"It depends on w-why you read," she agreed. "And what you w-want to do."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"True," Hurley said. "You have to read lots of ninja books?"

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Ninja books?" Hinata smiled. "We've m-many sorts of books."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Like... 'Sneaking for beginners', that sort of thing?" Hurley said.

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"No," she said, giggling quietly. "That's m-mostly taught in practical lessons."

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Heh," Hurley said. "I guess I shoulda known that."

[identity profile] shyest-eyes.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
"It's easier to teach that way," she said lightly.

[identity profile] likes-chicken.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," Hurley said. "Guess the fun stuff all is."
