Turtle was thinking that maybe she should have something exciting or interesting to do on a Friday but...well, she kind of didn't. She did, however, need to get away from that stupid, drooling dog for just a little bit, so she took a book and drifted down to the common room. She made some hot cocoa and curled up on the corner of the couch.

However, CNN on was on the background, so she kept getting distracted from reading, especially in watching the little ticker go by at the bottom of the screen.

"I would think," she offered, "that the p-people have little to do with the setting?"

Hurley paused. "But the people in a place, like, effect how you feel and stuff."

"Yes," she said agreeably. "Though I d-don't know that I understand how the weather matters with the people? People can make a p-place happier, but if the weather is bad, then the weather is bad?"

"Oh, yeah," Hurley said. "But people can help distract from the weather. Or... I dunno, you're probably right and I'm just crazy."

That got a soft laugh. "Or maybe it's simply c-confusion and we're both right in some way."

"Probably," Hurley said. "Oh, I started that book. I... kinda actually like it."

She grinned.

Kiba would consider that blackmail material enough for a year. Hinata didn't think so. "I've read them," she said, nodding her head. "They're f-fun."

"Yeah," Hurley said. "And who needs more than fun from their books, right?"

"At least," she amended, "the b-books you read for leisure."

"Oh, good point," Hurley said. "Though I kinda try to avoid books for other stuff."

"It depends on w-why you read," she agreed. "And what you w-want to do."

"True," Hurley said. "You have to read lots of ninja books?"

"Ninja books?" Hinata smiled. "We've m-many sorts of books."

"Like... 'Sneaking for beginners', that sort of thing?" Hurley said.

"No," she said, giggling quietly. "That's m-mostly taught in practical lessons."
