Just Outside The Main Gate, Saturday Morning

Much like the previous day, Saturday found Arthur venturing back down to the barricade. It was early, the sunlight was yet shallow and leaning towards overcast, and only the first warbles of birds became evident as he slogged at the thing.

At least it had remained intact overnight. He was in full armor yet again, with shamelessly modded Merlin at his side. He'd stayed quiet opposite the boy most of the time, barring talk of strategy. The magic was something that'd have to be discussed again if they managed to survive this whole mess.

He climbed up so he could take a quick survey of the town. Watching the still forms lumber about, he felt a chill settling in his bones. There was only one word he could use to describe it.

"Bugger," he muttered, succinctly, and ran a hand through his hair. Sometimes, he had a knack for brevity.

Flying out from the dorms, Blossom saw a crowd by the gates again and this time didn't bother changing back to Momoko as she touched down near the front lines. She was too tired and too upset.

"Has there been much of a change since last night's radio, does anyone know? Are they all still in town? Zombies, I mean."

"Take a look over the barricade," Arthur said, mildly, "There's plenty." Just. Not. Thinking about the flying. At all.

Blossom jumped back into the air and hovered a moment, staring, arms folded. "Right. So is the plan just to sit here and wait?"

"The plan is to keep the dorms safe while the Lady Zoe and her people find the sorcerer," he said. At least, he really hoped that's what they were doing.

[heromaniac]

Blossom nodded briefly, tapping a finger against her forearm as she looked at the barricade. "Good plan using the dorms as the safe spot, especially since there are some people who aren't used to fighting, let alone fighting monsters. And I don't really like hearing a casualty list read on the radio." It made her feel like she wasn't doing her best.

"Sorcerer? So it's magic? Not spirits or demons, then? I don't have much experience with magic."

"Don't be ridiculous. Spirits and demons are fairytales," he said. So had most magic been before... well, he supposed before Merlin showed up.

[heromaniac]

"Where I come from they're not fairy tales and some can be very dangerous." She gave a tight shrug. "And I've learned that you really shouldn't assume anything isn't real at this place or that this world is anything like the one you're used to."


[sorry! LJ ate my reply. Weird.]

"Whatever," Arthur said, closed his eyes, then shook his head. "I apologise," he corrected himself, "I'm sure it's possible. But this didn't come from nowhere. Someone caused it, and we're going to find them."

"I know they didn't come from nowhere. I just assumed... never mind." Blossom shook her head. Different worlds, different beliefs. Besides, hadn't they just been talking in class about teamwork? She smiled at him. "Apology accepted, and yes we are going to find them and we're going to stop them. That's what we do, no matter what it is. My name's Blossom!" She returned to the ground and extended a hand.

Flying girl called Blossom. All right.

This was distinctly ridiculous. He reached over and gave her a respectable handshake regardless. "Prince Arthur of Camelot," he offered. Currently makeshift commander of the loons of the Main Gate Barricade, he added in his mind, mostly to give himself a quick strike of amusement to drive away some of the fear.
