Just Outside The Main Gate, Saturday Morning

Much like the previous day, Saturday found Arthur venturing back down to the barricade. It was early, the sunlight was yet shallow and leaning towards overcast, and only the first warbles of birds became evident as he slogged at the thing.

At least it had remained intact overnight. He was in full armor yet again, with shamelessly modded Merlin at his side. He'd stayed quiet opposite the boy most of the time, barring talk of strategy. The magic was something that'd have to be discussed again if they managed to survive this whole mess.

He climbed up so he could take a quick survey of the town. Watching the still forms lumber about, he felt a chill settling in his bones. There was only one word he could use to describe it.

"Bugger," he muttered, succinctly, and ran a hand through his hair. Sometimes, he had a knack for brevity.

"I mean that if they were just mindless creatures, they'd go for where the most snacks are. Instead they're staying down there," Ichigo replied. "So they're either up to something or they're buying their time for when they do get up here."

...yeah, Chad didn't think of those options.

"Maybe they're just too stupid to figure it out?" he offered. "And, I mean, the school's....special. Maybe it's just protected. I know if you try to hit someone in Caritas, you get sent outside before you can. Something like that."

Ichigo shrugged his shoulders, shaking off the thought. "Yeah, maybe you're right," he agreed.

"There's people in the library," Chad added, "trying to figure out how to stop this, too..."

"Then maybe they'll figure it out soon enough," Ichigo said, not that he sounded convinced. Solutions to him came more in the form of fighting than researching.

"Maybe," Chad agreed. "'Til then...."

He slowly closed his fist again, tightly, making the armour creak a little.

Ichigo nodded and he glanced down at the baseball bat he was holding. "I'm heading in town later." Where he could use Zangetsu.

Chad gave a slight glance in the direction where Teddy was.

"What company?" he asked, after deciding that, even though he knew Teddy wouldn't really approve, it would be good to help more.

Ichigo glanced at Chad's arm, if anyone could handle this invasion... "Sure, if you've got nothing better to do."

Chad shrugged. "Not really."

The place was pretty well guarded, one had to admit. And, besides, he'd follow Ichigo into any battle.

"Sounds like a deal then," Ichigo agreed, it was probably strange to be cheered up by this.
