Just Outside The Main Gate, Saturday Morning

Much like the previous day, Saturday found Arthur venturing back down to the barricade. It was early, the sunlight was yet shallow and leaning towards overcast, and only the first warbles of birds became evident as he slogged at the thing.

At least it had remained intact overnight. He was in full armor yet again, with shamelessly modded Merlin at his side. He'd stayed quiet opposite the boy most of the time, barring talk of strategy. The magic was something that'd have to be discussed again if they managed to survive this whole mess.

He climbed up so he could take a quick survey of the town. Watching the still forms lumber about, he felt a chill settling in his bones. There was only one word he could use to describe it.

"Bugger," he muttered, succinctly, and ran a hand through his hair. Sometimes, he had a knack for brevity.

Tahiri didn't roll her eyes, but it was a close thing. "I can comm for backup if we need it, and the other Jedi can sense me." Unless Riina took over again, but she hoped it wouldn't come to that.

He was still confident that he could handle most of what these zombies threw at him. "How does that sensing thing work?" he asked curiously.

"The Force?" Tahiri tried, and realized that sucked as an explanation. "Now's not the best time to explain that."

He shrugged a shoulder. "You can stop explaining once we run into something to beat up," he offered.

Tahiri gave him a slightly scornful look. "Like I said, we might not."

"So there's time to explain," he was just ignoring the look she gave him.

"What if I don't want to?" Tahiri had picked better moments to be a brat.

He shrugged. "You could tell me what's got you pissed off," he offered, because he wasn't completely unaware of the mood difference since she want to talk to the other girl.

"She drives me crazy sometimes, that's all," Tahiri muttered. "I get why she does it, though."

He knew everything about people who could drive you crazy. "Getting it doesn't always justify it," he commented.

"No," Tahiri conceded. "But I can't really hold it against her."

She was too weirdly self-conscious to say so out loud, but Jaina was about the closest thing she had to family, at least here.
