5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

There was some insanity going on in Fandom this week, and after John and Gavin had been assaulted by their visitor, they'd parted. And gotten a change of wardrobe.

After leaving her in...Gavin's dorm room, Johnny realized had to find Baby, he'd made a mistake leaving Kellerman's like that. He stormed into the...common room to find her sitting in the corner, watching the show.

In reality, there was no show. It was just Gavin in a really frilly dress staring at the television and looking disheartened.

Clad in tight black pants and popped-collar shirt, Johnny stormed over to where Baby sat, announcing to the world that, "Nobody puts Baby in the corner!" Then he offered her his hand.

Tomorrow would be painful.

[This is all [livejournal.com profile] sith_happened's fault. Minimal OCD coming for the dance ready!]

When Tahiri got Ben's message, she was down the hall from her room like a blaster bolt.

And wow, did she ever need that after the conversation earlier.

She was never going to be able to look Colonel Darklighter in the eye again. At least not without wanting desperately to laugh.

The Colonel Darklighter in question spotted the particularly interested audience member and did several graceful (no, they were awful) spins over to her.

"Enjoy the show?" Said demurely, of course.

"This is the best birthday present ever," Tahiri said in a slightly choked voice. Yes, it was because she was trying so hard not to laugh, but it could totally be read another way.

"Oh, is it your birthday?" How wonderful for her to see the dance on her birthday. Baby hoped it had been a good one. "I'd offer to sing but I'm really a better dancer."

And, to demonstrate, she sort of gyrated over the back of a chair.

Oh god, the horror.

Okay, now Tahiri might be reconsidering that a little.

That was a mental image that was never going to leave her.

. . . but wow, it was funny, in a terrifying kind of way.

"Wow," she said, and clapped a hand over her mouth. "That's . . . impressive."

"Johnny taught me to just hear the music and let myself move," Baby explained, sending an adoring glance in Johnny's direction. "You should try!"

Yes, Baby was gesturing to the chair. And to Tahiri. Come on, a little experimentation never hurt anyone?

"No, really," Tahiri said, her voice still kind of muffled by her hand. "That's okay, really. I'll just watch."

"If you just watch, you'll never know what it feels like to be so alive, your toes tingle!" Baby said, throwing her hands up in the air and rocking her hips back and forth.

It probably looked like Gavin was a marionette being controlled by some half ass puppet master.

Tahiri looked down at her feet. Did people have to bring this up even when they were gremlin-bitten?

"Can't I just watch and learn how you guys do it first?" she asked.

Oh, the horror. Someone had better be recording this.

"If you just sit on the sidelines," Baby said wisely, like she knew what the hell she was talking about, "you'll never have the time of your life. And I can tell...you're like the wind."

Yes, that came out of Gavin's mouth.

"What in the name of the Great Bantha is that supposed to mean?" Tahiri asked, blinking.

Baby had no idea what country this girl was from but she sounded delightfully foreign and Baby knew not to judge.

"Come on, just try it!" Even if the girl looked like she could do with a teacher like Johnny...she wasn't getting Johnny because Johnny was hers. "It'll make you feel alive!"

Yeah, Tahiri wasn't touching Johnny anyway because Jaina didn't need more reasons to kick her ass.

"No, really," she sputtered. "I feel plenty alive already."

"Have you ever felt a man's body against yours, rocking in tune with yours?"

Gavin was so sorry, Tahiri. So sorry.

"You don't feel alive until you've done that."

Really sorry.

"Um," Tahiri said, ever so eloquently. "Maybe someday."

You know, when her boyfriend could handle touching her again and even then if she followed that train of thought much further it was going to lead to all manner of flailing.

"Just not today?"

Baby looked nonplussed. She grinned at Tahiri and shrugged. "If you change your mind, just start dancing! Someone will find you then!"

That made no freaking sense. Baby was already too busy dancing towards Johnny to notice.

"I'll remember that," Tahiri called after Gavin.

Oh, she was definitely going to remember something.
