5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

There was some insanity going on in Fandom this week, and after John and Gavin had been assaulted by their visitor, they'd parted. And gotten a change of wardrobe.

After leaving her in...Gavin's dorm room, Johnny realized had to find Baby, he'd made a mistake leaving Kellerman's like that. He stormed into the...common room to find her sitting in the corner, watching the show.

In reality, there was no show. It was just Gavin in a really frilly dress staring at the television and looking disheartened.

Clad in tight black pants and popped-collar shirt, Johnny stormed over to where Baby sat, announcing to the world that, "Nobody puts Baby in the corner!" Then he offered her his hand.

Tomorrow would be painful.

Where you can gawk at the dance and/or interact with the ~~lovers~~ dancers.

This week is awesome.

When he'd left earlier, Baby had been sure she'd never see him again. She'd go back home, start at Holyoke and live her life. Her boring life. Oh, how could she go back to that when she'd experienced so much here?

All she wanted to do was dance! She wanted to dance with him, slink around his body and just EXPERIENCE the life she'd never known was out there.

But, Johnny was back and she only had eyes for him. He was saying words, saying something and then taking her hand and she went with him. She'd go anywhere with him.

Gavin was going to kill himself slowly tomorrow.

Ben was making his way back from Tahiri's room when he saw two guys he knew wearing completely stupid outfits.

Of course he was staying.

She was bravest woman he'd ever known. Johnny led her to the stage, also known as the common room kitchen table and spoke loudly into the nonexistent microphone.

"Sorry about the disruption, folks, but I always do the last dance of the season. This year, somebody told me not to." John paused dramatically. Three guesses who that asshat was.

"So I'm gonna do my kind of dancin' with a great partner who's not only a terrific dancer but somebody who's taught me that there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them." He got a little choked up at that.

Baby didn't recognize Ben but that didn't mean she couldn't try and connect with him. Johnny had said they had to play to their audience, after all. Of course, Baby preferred the private dancing with Johnny but she knew they couldn't do that all time.

So, Baby sashayed over to Ben, flipping his skirt (yes, skirt) at Ben and giving him a bright, big smile. Maybe if the audience loved them, Johnny could keep his job! He needed this job!

There were so many people out there. Baby tried not to let herself get nervous, gripping Johnny's hand like a lifeline. They were all looking at her and, for a moment, she felt like the ugliest girl in the room. But, Johnny.

Oh, Johnny.

He was speaking so kindly about her and, with the nonexistent spotlight on them, with the audience just waiting for them to mess up, she felt like she could do just about anything.

She could even carry a watermelon WHILE they danced. She turned to look at him adoringly for a minute, memorizing his words. They would be with her forever.

Fuck, he could cry. John sniffed, squeezing Baby's hand and giving himself the strength to continue.

"Somebody who's taught me about the kind of person I want to be. Miss Frances Houseman."

That'd show them all.

He even said her real name so wonderfully. She'd been Baby for so long that hearing Frances almost seemed like a foreign word. But, Johnny.

Oh, Johnny.

She smiled up at him again, willing to wipe away his tears if he should start crying. She knew his soul, after all. So many of these people tried to use him and abuse him and took him for granted and she was just glad that he'd overcome.

And he'd brought her with him.

Baby sighed audibly, terrifying considering it was Gavin doing the sighing in John Sheppard's direction. And they were holding hands. On the common room table.

Johnny was HER guy. She'd hesitated on telling her dad that earlier but no more. Johnny was hers.

Dropping Baby's hand, Johnny stalked off the table and found the cd record player, cuing up the start of their song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpmILPAcRQo) and looking back to Baby.

His eyes were so full of love and the belief that she could do this, she could dance and forget about the audience, forget about her parents for just a few glorious minutes.

For a moment, she was alone. Alone on the stage, hands curling against the fabric of her frilly pink dress.

Let's take a moment and come back to reality and realize that Gavin was in a dress. This was all Principal Winchester's fault.

And then, there was music. And then, there was Johnny. And his eyes were on her. They were on her and no one else but her. He was focused on her and she'd never known that kind of attention from anyone outside her family. She felt...loved.

Johnny was coming back towards her now. And they were going to dance.

Oh, Johnny.

Walking toward her from the shadows (or just hopping back up on the table), Johnny gave Baby a come hither finger and wrapped his hands around her waist to remind her it was just them doing their dance, right here, right now.

And then he grabbed Baby's hand and started the dance, moving to bend her back in swirling turn, his body pressed close to hers.

Clearly this was the greatest week of Lois' young life.

And she was documenting it quite well with her cell phone, thank you.

Getting the audience involved was key to their type of performing. Johnny wiggled his hips as he danced over in Lois' direction doing an impressive white man's overbite.

Oh, god. This was almost worse than the lap dance.

"You've got some nice moves," Lois lied. Those moves were terrible but, you know, whatever will keep him dancing like a dumbass.

Ben was very proud of how he didn't howl with laughter immediately. "Nice skirt," he said, reaching for his comlink.

It was hard to think of anything BUT Johnny when his body was right up against hers like that. Baby took one of Johnny's strong hands and let the other rest on his arm. They were together, together as one. Two extensions of one dance.

He moved with Johnny, bending backwards and letting his nonexistent long hair fall down her back seductively. Slow and smooth, no jerky movements, no twitching. Johnny had taught her so well. He was so much more than the sum of his parts. He was so much more than he thought of. He was her whole world and she would dance.

Dance. For him.

When she came back up, she was smirking, clearly thinking other thoughts when they were like this. And they'd just started. Baby knew she was going to start sweating and that would mean sweatily clinging to Johnny.

Oh, that was just going to be devastating.

ILU GUYS SO MUCH

"Thanks. Wanna give it a try?" He was a dancing teacher, he could teach her his terrible moves.

Of course, the only person he wanted to dance with was Baby, now that he'd found her.

Annja had been heading out to Caritas after getting her video camera. However, that was before she was walking past the common room and saw ... oh my god.

She stared, then grinned, pulling up her video camera and starting the recording.

She couldn't wait to show Hoshi.

Baby just gave him an impish little grin, swirling that skirt a little more as she did a twist. It was the most horrible, most overbalanced twist in recorded history but, to Baby, it was perfect because it was just how Johnny taught her.

"Thank you," she said politely. Compliments had to be acknowledged, after all. He'd been so nice, come out and was clearly enjoying himself. Baby was determined to make sure all the audience left with a smile even if she had to dance with them all herself!

Lois sighed. "Sure, why not?"

Dancing couldn't have been as bad as playing along with the transsexual hooker thing yesterday.

"What's your name?" Ben asked, for the benefit of the camera. His dad could use a laugh.

There were so many people here tonight. If Baby hadn't been taught by the best, by her Johnny, she might have been nervous. But he'd calmed her down and told her, when they danced, it would be like everyone disappeared.

And he'd been right. Oh, Johnny. Her Johnny.

Baby danced over in Annja's direction by jumping off the table (in his frilly skirt) and doing some back and forth hip sways for her amusement.

Gavin wasn't the tallest guy ever but his lanky ass trying to do hip sways in something resembling a smooth manner was just a catastrophe.
