5th Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening
There was some insanity going on in Fandom this week, and after John and Gavin had been assaulted by their visitor, they'd parted. And gotten a change of wardrobe.
After leaving her in...Gavin's dorm room, Johnny realized had to find Baby, he'd made a mistake leaving Kellerman's like that. He stormed into the...common room to find her sitting in the corner, watching the show.
In reality, there was no show. It was just Gavin in a really frilly dress staring at the television and looking disheartened.
Clad in tight black pants and popped-collar shirt, Johnny stormed over to where Baby sat, announcing to the world that, "Nobody puts Baby in the corner!" Then he offered her his hand.
Tomorrow would be painful.
[This is all
sith_happened's fault. Minimal OCD coming for the dance ready!]

Re: THE DANCE
cdrecord player, cuing up the start of their song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpmILPAcRQo) and looking back to Baby. His eyes were so full of love and the belief that she could do this, she could dance and forget about the audience, forget about her parents for just a few glorious minutes.
Re: THE DANCE
Let's take a moment and come back to reality and realize that Gavin was in a dress. This was all Principal Winchester's fault.
And then, there was music. And then, there was Johnny. And his eyes were on her. They were on her and no one else but her. He was focused on her and she'd never known that kind of attention from anyone outside her family. She felt...loved.
Johnny was coming back towards her now. And they were going to dance.
Oh, Johnny.
Re: THE DANCE
And then he grabbed Baby's hand and started the dance, moving to bend her back in swirling turn, his body pressed close to hers.
Re: THE DANCE
He moved with Johnny, bending backwards and letting his nonexistent long hair fall down her back seductively. Slow and smooth, no jerky movements, no twitching. Johnny had taught her so well. He was so much more than the sum of his parts. He was so much more than he thought of. He was her whole world and she would dance.
Dance. For him.
When she came back up, she was smirking, clearly thinking other thoughts when they were like this. And they'd just started. Baby knew she was going to start sweating and that would mean sweatily clinging to Johnny.
Oh, that was just going to be devastating.
Re: THE DANCE
Johnny smirked back, thinking of how good things would be later, after the dance when they could be together without the spotlight or the crowd or her fantastic dress to keep them apart.
He turned her around, lifting her arm up and moving to slide his hand down like they'd practiced for so long. He knew she wouldn't giggle this time.
Back in reality, there was no way John was going to be okay with the sheer amount of fondling that went on during this dance. Can anyone say repression?
Re: THE DANCE
He was her home.
Two teenage boys, one wearing a dress, were now nearly snuggling on a common room kitchen table. Repression was going to be EXTRAORDINARY here.
Baby knew what was coming next and she subtly positioned her body to get ready. She was going to dance with Johnny Castle. At the beginning of this trip, she'd carried a watermelon and he'd barely been able to look at her. He was unattainable and she was a child.
Now. Now, they were going to dance the last dance of the season. They were going to dance and it was going to be amazing.
Re: THE DANCE
Stroking his hand slowly down the soft silk of her dress, brushing over the very edge of her breast, John placed his hand finally at her waist. She'd done it perfectly. Not a flinch. That was his Baby.
Leaning in, he kissed the tip of Baby's nose, his hands positioned themselves with hers for the first turn of the dance.
Re: THE DANCE
It was finally time. After all the practicing, all the pain, all the humiliation, it was time to really dance. Baby had almost been sure this moment wouldn't come. She'd had so much let down in her life that she almost didn't want to believe it.
But, no. Johnny wouldn't get her hopes up only to dash them. With that soft kiss on her nose (and Gavin was going to contemplate burning the tip off later), Baby knew it was time.
And as she grasped Johnny's hand, spinning effortlessly (in reality, there was nothing graceful or nice about this turn) out of her turn, Baby knew that she'd have the time of her life with him.
Re: THE DANCE
He'd known since that day in the rain when she'd told him he was wild. The sound of her laugh was worth a thousand broken car windows.
Twirling her out he barely had to move, just watch her spin beautifully, skirt pooling up around her waist like spinning cotton candy. There was no hesitation as he pulled her back in for the first steps of the merengue.
They both started on the two. She was perfect.
In reality, heaven hope the table held out for two flailing teenage boys.
Re: THE DANCE
Well, maybe one more thing but they could do that later. And when Gavin realized he even THOUGHT that about John, he was liable to drink paint.
The pace of the music picked up now and Baby went onto her toes, refusing to put her heel down like Johnny had chastised her for. She'd listened and learned and she was going to dance for him. She was going to be his muse.
Hands up, on his shoulder and grasping one of his, Baby started to move for the first few steps of the song. There was nothing hesitant about her moves at all.
She was going to show everyone that she could do this. That she wasn't some younger sister. She was Baby Houseman.
And she was breaking out of that corner.
Re: THE DANCE
Moving with her like they were designed that way, Johnny spun Baby at he perfect moment, turning them both toward the crowd to do some incredibly intricate footwork that would normally get whoops of encouragement from girls in plaid tube tops.
Johnny really had never felt this way before.
Re: THE DANCE
Baby could feel herself starting to perspire a little (which wasn't surprising since John and Gavin were flailing on a table in the common room) but she knew it was a good sweat. It was the kind of sweat she and Johnny worked up under the moonlight so many times this summer.
Just thinking about that got her hotter.
They turned back to each other and Baby was feeling her groove now. She was getting into the zone and she was getting into Johnny's zone. He spun her once and she followed suit, spinning him too. She glimpsed his strong back muscles briefly and got hotter.
There were prettier girls, smarter girls, better girls but he'd picked her. Her past, present and future appeared in his eyes and suddenly, she felt like she could fly.
That was later in the dance though.
Re: THE DANCE
So he spun her, around and around, catching her at her waist and letting her get her groove on with the music, all pressed up against him.
Hopefully Gavin didn't fall off the table from dizziness.
Re: THE DANCE
Gavin's hair was longer than John's but there was certainly no way he could really shake it out. It didn't stop him from looking like his neck had been broken and was now flopping uselessly from side to side.
The music was her life, Baby thought. Her life with Johnny. It started slow, started boring but then it got faster and that's when Baby got good. That's when she took hold of Johnny and they thrust one hip forward and then the other. Their hips were like magnets, so attracted to each other even during dancing.
Gavin and John thrusting their hips towards each other probably looked more like a seizure.
Baby stepped closer to Johnny again, sliding one hair into his thick, dark locks and letting her fingers play over the silky strands and they turned, their eyes on each other.
Baby felt so alive.
Re: THE DANCE
Johnny clenched his jaw, looking at her like he could devour her in an instant. But he gave in to the dance and pushed her out into another spin, pulling her close again for just a moment where they clung to each other and he got to see her smile all big and close to him.
Everyone watching this dance could see the love he felt for Baby.
After a few more spins and a lot more fancy footwork they were back, joined at the groin, his leg between hers, his hand at her lower back and they were grinding it up.
Please, someone stop them. Please.
Re: THE DANCE
Maybe the common room table would break and stab Gavin through the brain.
Johnny's eyes were so intense while they danced and he kept those soulful orbs of love on her when they danced away from each other and right back closer. Baby knew what was coming next. It was just the small lift but it was a lift nonetheless.
Baby jumped into Johnny's arms, ready for the spin. Ready for the carousel. Ready to feel her body in Johnny's strong, strong hands.
Re: THE DANCE
Not that Baby looked heavier, but she was no eighty pound waif.
With another few steps and a spin, Johnny stopped, raising Baby's hand to his lips and kissing it before reluctantly letting go and leaping off the common room table with a huge amount of gusto.
That was going to hurt in the morning.
Re: THE DANCE
Now, it was her turn to just admire him. And watching him walk away was not a hard thing to do. He had such a tight little bum, all covered in that black fabric and Baby couldn't help herself. She just had to stare.
She was on the stage but no one was watching her. Johnny deserved the attention, the spotlight. Johnny deserved everything. She looked on at him adoringly. Her eyes, though, they were anything but adoring.
They were, in fact, hungry eyes and they were devouring Johnny up.
Re: THE DANCE
He popped up off the ground, a section of hair flapping hot and sweaty against his forehead as he gyrated through the crowd. Snapping his fingers, he made sultry eye contact with everyone, twisting and dancing up the aisle.
But none of them got anything like the look he sent Baby before he flung himself to his knees for some new version of spinning break dancing, banging his head to make his long...okay spiky hair fly.
Johnny leapt into the air from a kneeling point and turned to face the table where he knew Baby was still moving, waiting for him and their big finale. He danced with their friends, moves perfectly choreographed. Other than the part where he danced alone.
Spinning one last time he turned again to Baby and nodded his head, biting his lip in wonder of her courage. They would do the lift. But only if she was ready.
Re: THE DANCE
Their friends rushed forward, taking her hands and helping her down. She landed daintily on her feet, not able to control her immense grin. This was their big finish. This was going to be the moment they showed everyone that dreams really could come true.
Metaphorically. Because the lift was a metaphor for life and Johnny was the earth and Baby was a bird and...look, it made sense somewhere.
The audience wasn't going to get any warning about this. Their retinas might be permanently damaged.
And that's when Baby started running towards Johnny, leaping off of her feet and into Johnny's waiting hands, ready to be lifted to the sky.
To fly!
To soar!
Re: THE DANCE
Johnny's hands hit her hips and tugged upward with her jump momentum...but again, this was not some eighty pound girl he was tossing over his head. This was Gavin. Who was nearly as tall as he was and maybe a little broader.
Meaning Gavin went up and John crashed backwards where he was about to get crushed by a teenage boy.
Yet another something that was gonna hurt in the morning.
Sadly, none of this fazed Johnny.
Re: THE DANCE
Even if they hadn't.
They'd danced their last danced and, if anyone asked, Baby would tell them that she'd had the time of her life. She clutched Johnny to her bosom, letting their friends dance around them and wondered how her life had gotten so good.
To recap: Gavin was now clutching John to his chest. Yeeeeeeep.
Re: THE DANCE
Because somehow he was standing, yes.
And his male parts were intact.
It was a good day.
So he started singing to his love. "Now I've. Had. The time of my life. No, I never felt this way before. Yes I swear. It's the truth..." She was the most perfect vision he'd ever seen. The song was the metaphor for their relationship when coupled with the lift and all the grinding. He screwed up his face to shout and nod his head with each of the last words of t he song, "And I owe it all to you!"
Then he gazed deeply into Baby's eyes, feeling her hands on his neck and in the back of his hair.
Re: THE DANCE
...and the fire from the candles.
Baby ran her hands through the luxurious brown locks of his semi mullet. She loved the feel of its softness over her fingers. She was addicted to him, to all of him and she wanted to physically show him how much she was into him.
She leaned up closer, wanting to kiss him, needing to kiss him. It would be the cherry on top, the icing on the cake, the perfect ending to a perfect dance.
And so Baby kissed Johnny. Right there, on the common table.
Yep.
Re: THE DANCE
She was the time of his life. He pressed his lips to hers, not caring that her parents were watching or that he had no job and no money to his name. He had Baby Houseman.
When the kiss finally ended, Johnny looked deep into her eyes again and lifted her straight up into the air. Sort of. At least he didn't drop her.
Lowering her back into his arms, he started rocking and dancing again. This was their time. This was their love.
On the common room table.
