The Deck, early evening Thursday

Dinah had hamburgers and hot dogs, some veggie platters and chips and dip, soft drinks and cake. Oh, and ice cream in the fridge inside for later.

Happy birthday, Will Shakespeare! Oh, and her too.

[very limited OCD ~~about to go~~ up!, for early justice and time zones; set before Dress Rehearsal/Previews.

Claudia made another face. She was not a huge dodgeball fan. "And then three glorious months of nothing but getting tan!"

"And watching girls get tans. You sticking around for the summer?"

"~~It'll be like a super special!~~ Definitely!" she chirped. "Unless a friend at home wins the lottery again or something."

Priestly blinked. "That happen a lot where you're from?"

"More often than you'd think," Claudia said with a grin.

Priestly nodded. He was getting very used to hearing about bizarre things. "Man, that's some luck."

"Never mine," she said, "but I have lucky friends. My luck goes the other way, like repeating grades."

~~Especially 8th.~~ "Yeah, that's definitely gotta suck. But you're doing okay here, right?"

"I think so," Claudia said. "How sad would it be to flunk at classes like eating?"

"On the other hand, you could become a supermodel."

"I think I'm a little short still," Claudia sighed.

"Okay, first, I think I'm obliged to say I disagree, here. And second, that just means I get you more to myself."

"Awww," Claudia said, grinning up at him. "That's so sweet."

"Hey, it's what I'm for."

"Is that all you're for?" Claudia asked, trying to look as adorable as possible.

Priestly shook his head with a grin. "I'm for lots of things."

"Making excellent milkshakes, for one," Claudia said. "Having awesome hair..."

"And awesome music. And an awesome girl."

"Awww," Claudia replied. "For that you deserve a kiss."

"Ooo." Priestly leaned in. "I like those."

"I remember hearing that somewhere," Claudia said before kissing him.
