The Deck, early evening Thursday

Dinah had hamburgers and hot dogs, some veggie platters and chips and dip, soft drinks and cake. Oh, and ice cream in the fridge inside for later.

Happy birthday, Will Shakespeare! Oh, and her too.

[very limited OCD about to go up!, for early justice and time zones; set before Dress Rehearsal/Previews.

Anyone welcome, even if you don't know her! I'm sticking to Dinah's thread to keep it simple.]

"I wish," Dinah said, laughing. "Older than when I got here, that's for sure, but not really old yet. Thanks so much for your suggestions for the party, it made getting stuff together a lot easier."

"Logic," Ino said airily, stepping around the thanks because, augh, thanks, "is a good friend of mine when it does what I want it to do."

Otherwise it was her enemy and pointedly ignored.

"I'll keep watch for grey hairs," she said mock-solemnly. "So you know when you're getting old."

"Awesome. I'll know when to lay in more pink and blue hair color," Dinah said, equally mock-grave. "I hear gray hair soaks that stuff up a lot better too."

"My best friend back home has naturally pink hair," Ino said lightly. "And does it? I wonder why you don't see more people with grey hair with bright green and pink then?"

A beat.

"Though you do tend to see little old ladies with blue tinged hair."

"You doooo," Dinah said slowly, thinking about this. "Or that peachy color. Hunh." Then, "Seriously? Pink? Cooooooool."

"Maybe they all have the same hairdresser?" Ino quipped, then grinned. "Uh huh. It's, um, a tiny bit darker than cherry blossoms--have you ever seen those? They're super pretty when in flower."

Dinah snickered and then said, "Oooooo. And yeah, in the Botanic Gardens at New Gotham. I'm jealous. And I think I'm streaking my hair different colors this weekend, now."

She laughed. "And one of those colours might just be cherry pink?" Ino teased. "I'd suggest pink and orange, but that's more for my own amusement than anything else. Pink and blue, maybe?"

"Pink and blue, yes!" Dinah grinned. "The wash-out stuff, so I can't mess it up too much."

"Lucky you, that it washes out easily," she said, giggling. "Though when I got it in my hair, it was actual paint. A.J. had to bleach it out of my hair in the end 'cause it wasn't leaving. You should do purple some time, it's such a pretty colour."

Said the girl who had a great deal of the colour in her wardrobe.
