The Deck, early evening Thursday

Dinah had hamburgers and hot dogs, some veggie platters and chips and dip, soft drinks and cake. Oh, and ice cream in the fridge inside for later.

Happy birthday, Will Shakespeare! Oh, and her too.

[very limited OCD ~~about to go~~ up!, for early justice and time zones; set before Dress Rehearsal/Previews.

"Sam's a girl," Hannibal pointed out. "Just because he lacks a dick doesn't make that any less true. Which girls? You make it sound like they attack you about this on a daily basis."

"Sam's not a girl," Chuck said, almost as a reflex. "And it's none of your business. I don't get attacked on a daily basis. It just happens enough to get annoying."

"You know, why the hell do I even try talking to you lately?" Hannibal asked. "All you do is pick apart whatever the fuck I say and make it look like I'm snooping for information."

"Then stop trying to talk to me," Chuck said simply. "This isn't exactly fun for me either."

"What's not fun for you?" he asked. "Me talking to you?"

"Are you having fun right now?" Chuck asked.

"I was but then you got all weird about conversations similar to ones we've had in the past," Hannibal said, rolling his eyes. "I talk to you because you're my friend. And I like talking to you."

Chuck couldn't help but roll his eyes himself. "You keep saying things like that, which you should stop doing, by the way, and yet we keep bitching at each other."

"I should stop saying you're my friend?" he asked. "Why? Am I wrong?"

"I don't fucking know. I don't think about that sort of shit," Chuck said, shrugging. Yeah he did. It just made him uncomfortable. "It's just weird hearing it."

"Bitching at each other really doesn't mean anything more than we have opposite personalities," he said, shrugging. "If you want me to leave you alone, fine. I'm not going to come around where I'm not wanted. But talking or bitching or whatever is almost infinitely more fucking interesting than anything else I'd be doing."

"For fuck's sake, Hannibal, I'm not breaking up with you or anything. You just caught me in a bad, hangovery mood," he said. "But, seriously, we need to get you a hobby or something if this is what qualifies as entertainment for you."

"Man, you suck at taking a compliment," Hannibal decided. "Like, you royally suck and not in the good way. I have plenty of hobbies but gee thanks for the interest."

Punching Chuck was looking like a fun option, in fact. Just because.

"Do you want me to get you some water?" he asked. "So I can dump it on you?"

Only sort of serious.

"You do that and I'll really break up with you," Chuck said. Only sort of serious.

"And then I'd just cry and cry and write terrible things about you in my diary and put a voodoo curse on you," Hannibal decided. "There's gotta be one for limp dick or something."

"Good luck trying to find one powerful enough to stop me. My fantastic stamina was once again proven last night," Chuck said. "There were job interviews last night at Victrola. Had to make sure the new girls were--ahem--qualified."

"I'm surprised you're not still there," Hannibal said, snickering. "Giving second interviews. Hey, you could always take Francine there. Maybe she'd get the flail out. Your girls wear barely there, clothes? She'd have a blast."

Or not.

"Francine does give decent lap dances," Chuck mused.

"I'm not going to ask how you know that," Hannibal decided. "You could always set her and Merlin up on a date there. Get Francine to dance, take Merlin, show him and watch him come in his pants."

"...he told you about coming in his pants?" Chuck asked, looking surprised.

"...no," Hannibal said, blinking. "That was just me being a smartass."

Wait.

"Did he?"

"Yeah, I think he did," Chuck said, not being able to help grinning. "I overheard Emmett asking him if he did and when I brought it up later Merlin didn't deny it."

"Oh wow, that...sucks for him," Hannibal said, letting some laughter slip out. "And for his pants. Calling him Hairtrigger would just be mean, wouldn't it?"

"Yeah, but don't let that stop you," he said.

"Well, he is my little brother so I think I almost get privileges," Hannibal decided. "He's growing up so fast. Soon, he'll even be shopping for condoms."

Oh wow.

"Wow, I kinda wanna be there for that."
