The Deck, early evening Thursday

Dinah had hamburgers and hot dogs, some veggie platters and chips and dip, soft drinks and cake. Oh, and ice cream in the fridge inside for later.

Happy birthday, Will Shakespeare! Oh, and her too.

[very limited OCD ~~about to go~~ up!, for early justice and time zones; set before Dress Rehearsal/Previews.

Anyone welcome, even if you don't know her! I'm sticking to Dinah's thread to keep it simple.]

"Boots," Triela said firmly. She'd eventually decided against a tie. Which didn't seem really Dinah's speed.

"Boots. Because she likes boots?"

Triela blinked. "I hope so." She didn't really pay attention to that sort of thing. But Triela liked boots... and they were nice boots...

"I'm sure she'll like the boots. Who wouldn't like boots? And she does all that hanging off the roof and stuff so boots are definitely birthday gift appropriate," she said, nodding. "Dinah will love them, Triela."

"I sort of had to guess at her size." But Triela was actually rather good at that, so she wasn't actually worried.

"Well, you're kind of perfect, Triela. I bet you did just fine, size wise." Amber was still short-sheeting her bed though.

"Well, I do know boots," Triela admitted. Modesty had never been a strong suit.

"Of course you do," she replied, her lips quirking upwards. Triela never failed to amuse her. "Do you want to know what I got her?"

Triela raised an eyebrow. "Do I?" she asked teasingly.

Grinning, she shifted from one foot to the next and clasped her hands together behind her back. "Nahhhh, you don't want to know," she teased back.

"Okay then," Triela nodded, careful to suppress a grin of her own. She was totally serious.

Totally.

Oh. Totally.

"It's so cute, I know she'll love them," she offered up freely.

"You know, my birthday is next week."

Triela blinked. Then frowned.

"No. You didn't tell me." Now she had to find another present!

"I haven't much told anyone," she said quickly at her frown. "Well...Liir knows."

"And don't you worry about it! It's right before graduation and so much is going on and... just busy times."

"But it is traditional to give presents," Triela pointed out. Even she knew that much!

"Pfft," she snorted. "I am the most untraditional person ever."

She wasn't, but it sounded good. Triela did not have to get her anything!

"I'm not having a party. No party, no presents. I said so."

"Okay," Triela acquiesces.

She was totally going to have to ask someone how you went about planning a surprise party...

Amber believed her. Kind of.

And Triela better not...

"So you should go give Dinah her gift! I'll see you later, okay? Oh! Don't forget to come by the theatre later if you want. We're putting on the play later tonight."

Triela nodded. "I think I will." She grinned and waved, "See you later, Amber."

"See you later!" she waved as well and skipped off to get some cake.
