The Deck, early evening Thursday

Dinah had hamburgers and hot dogs, some veggie platters and chips and dip, soft drinks and cake. Oh, and ice cream in the fridge inside for later.

Happy birthday, Will Shakespeare! Oh, and her too.

[very limited OCD ~~about to go~~ up!, for early justice and time zones; set before Dress Rehearsal/Previews.

Anyone welcome, even if you don't know her! I'm sticking to Dinah's thread to keep it simple.]

"I didn't say everyone was good with them," Triela grins in amusement. "That's why we have the club. So people can practice."

"How do they work?" Hinata asked, mildly interested.

"Simple explanation, or technical?" Triela asked. She'd be glad to provide both!

"Both of course," she said, smiling. "As there's no s-such thing as too much knowledge."

"Simply: guns have barrels and triggers. You aim the barrel at the target and squeeze the trigger and the gun launches a bullet at extremely high speed."

"Complex: bullets are molded into shells containing a propellant. The gun fires by igniting the propellant in the barrel which expands quickly. Like a miniature explosion. The bullet then gets forced down the barrel ahead of the force of it."

She lifted an eyebrow. Any questions?

She digested that. "And you a-allow just anyone near them?"

"Well, not usually," Triela admitted. "I mean, back home, we all use them, but most places they're pretty specialized."

"That's a relief," she commented. "I think I would l-like to see one in use, but I wouldn't want just anyone usually to use one, from the sound of it."

"Well, they are extremely effective," Triela nodded. And since they were weapons that meant extremely deadly. "But if you like you can join us for the club. Or just find me sometime. I'd be glad to show you how they work."

"Perhaps one on one," she suggested, mildly amazed that she had the nerve to suggest it, "as your club s-should not be distracted my someone who has never seen a gun."

"Half our members probably hadn't seen one before they joined, or at least not used one, but one on one works for me."

She cocked her head. "When's good for you?"

"I'm free entirely now, but for Tuesdays... oh, and of course, the p-play is going on next week, so I'll not be around those evenings. Did you have a specific time that is b-better for you?"

Triela shook her head. "I'm free these days too. As long as I don't get called home."

"Which might happen on short notice," she added as a sort of warning.

She laughed softly.

"There is not worry there," Hinata assured her. "That is a s-standard thing back home to expect as well."

"Well then, assuming that neither of us get called back... when do you want to plan on meeting?"

"Perhaps Wednesday morning?" she suggested. "Unless you'd rather another day?"

"Wednesday morning sounds fine," Triela smiled. "Do you know where the range is?"

She laughed softly. "I will b-by then."

"Then I'll see you on Wednesday morning."
