The Salle, Monday Morning

The lack of classes meant Arthur would be spending more time in the salle than usual (if that was even possible), and he hadn't wasted too much time getting there that morning. His arm was coming along nicely, and so he took a practice blade for his left.

Might as well get some simple drills in while he waited.

"I wouldn't share until everyone agreed with me," Ben decided.

"Dork," Tahiri said affectionately, and added to herself, Oh, don't think I wouldn't make you agree, Riina.

"Yup," Ben agreed, reaching out to mess up her hair.

Tahiri shut her eyes and made a goofy face. "Good thing I like you that way."

"A very good thing," Ben said.

Tahiri just grinned up at him. "Well, now I'm comfortable and I don't want to move."

"I bet if you tried to nap, Arthur would give you looks," Ben said.

"So?" Tahiri asked, looking innocent. "What's he going to do, look me to death?"

"With Arthur? It's very possible," Ben said with a snicker.

[weetuskenraider]

"Bet it wouldn't work," Tahiri said, and stretched out on the mat, tucking her hands behind her head. Grinning just a little bit mischievously, maybe.

Ben leaned in to tickle her again.

Tahiri totally squeaked when he did that, and tried to bat his hand away. "Ben!"

"It was Arthur," Ben lied.

Tahiri snorted, scrambled up off the floor, and went for the tickle attack. "I can't ever picture him tickling anyone."

"Think he'd make Merlin do it?" Ben asked, giggling.

[weetuskenraider]

"Yes," Tahiri decided, then blinked. "You've been letting me tickle you!"

Which was not as much of an obvious statement as it might have seemed.

Ben's cheeks went pink. "Yeah."

"Well, it's about time," Tahiri said lightly, mostly teasing, but with a definite note of relief.

He laughed a little nervously. "I've been working at it."

[weetuskenraider]

"I know," Tahiri said, "and I've been working on not pushing."

Thus things like attempting to build gaderffii.

He reached for her hand. "I appreciate it."

[weetuskenraider]

Tahiri curled her fingers gently around his hand and admitted, "It's been . . . a learning experience."

He leaned his head against her shoulder. "I know."

[weetuskenraider]

"It's not a bad thing," Tahiri assured him, carefully shifting to rest her head against his. "Told you you weren't a bad influence."

"Good to hear," he said, moving to stand up. "Done working out?"
