LBJ Campfire, Thursday Night

Sometime during the day, Sam had come to a sad realization - he hadn't had nearly enough s'mores for the amount of time they'd been out at the cabins. When the evening rolled around and the sun finally went down, he lit the cabin's campfire and set himself up with all the necessary supplies, to cook for himself and for anyone else who sat down.

It wasn't long before he figured out that his marshmallow roasting stick was also good for keeping tiny moose away from the fire. It was kind of amazing how this place still found ways to weird him out, even after all this time.

Rose had a bag of marshmallows with her in case Worf came by again. "So were you meaning to draw a crowd?"

"It wasn't my exact intention, but I don't mind," he said. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Sam."

"Rose," she said, giving him a smile. "Pretty sure I'd remember you."

"Because of the hair or the height?" he asked, laughing. "I get both."

"I was going with the height," Rose said. "But the hair will do it too. You have to use more product than I do."

"Actually, it just kind of does this on its own," Sam said, running a hand through his hair and letting it fall back into place. "My brother, on the other hand, could run his own drugstore from the bathroom."

"I'm kinda jealous then," Rose said lightly. "And I'm saying that as one that has excellent hair. Which one's your brother?"

"He's not out here, but if you ever run into a kind of tall, attractive flirter named Dean? That's him."

Rose's eyebrows raised. "I'll be sure to look for him now," she teased. "So if he's the tall flirty one, what type of tall one are you?"

"Little sister, how nice of you to join us," Chuck said, giving her a smile. "How are you?"

"Better now, big brother," Rose replied, winking at him. "And enjoying myself. You?"

"Couldn't be better," Chuck said. Wasn't necessarily true but, whatever, he was in a good mood. "Gotten into trouble yet?"

"Nothing I didn't jump into feet first," she said easily. "What about you?"

"I've been relatively good this week," Chuck said, almost looking disappointed. He nodded his head towards Sam. "All I've been doing is annoying him."

"I'm disappointed," Rose teased, concealing a grin. "That's so normal."

"I'm having an off week," Chuck said. "It must be the heat."

"Work on that, will you?" she asked. "I was looking forward to watching."

"Wow, apparently I missed out on the 'bring your own marshmallows' memo," Jennifer said. "Hi."

"Promised a guy yesterday that I'd give him marshmallows next time I saw him at a campfire," Rose said, smiling at the girl. "So I didn't want to be caught out."

"Big promise," Jennifer said. "Trying to impress him?"

Rose burst out laughing. "No! Definitely not. Have you met Worf?"

"I haven't," Jennifer said. "It's an interesting name, though."

"Amusing guy, no sense of humour but a nice one nonetheless," she said. "You have to be new too, huh?"

Jennifer nodded. "I guess we can smell our own kind," she said. "I'm Jennifer."

"Rose," she said lightly. "And it's more that I'm pretty sure you couldn't forget Worf if you met him so...have to be new."
