LBJ Campfire, Thursday Night

Sometime during the day, Sam had come to a sad realization - he hadn't had nearly enough s'mores for the amount of time they'd been out at the cabins. When the evening rolled around and the sun finally went down, he lit the cabin's campfire and set himself up with all the necessary supplies, to cook for himself and for anyone else who sat down.

It wasn't long before he figured out that his marshmallow roasting stick was also good for keeping tiny moose away from the fire. It was kind of amazing how this place still found ways to weird him out, even after all this time.

"Small ones filled with moose." Priestly grinned. "I don't really know."

"That's a pretty odd circle," Jen said. "But at least you'll... I have no idea what to say."

Jennifer smiled. "It's okay," she said. "I sometimes say stuff like that, too."

"Good to know. So, where ya from?"

"LA," Jennifer said. "California, just in case you're from somewhere different."

"Santa Cruz. Also California."

"I should have guessed," Jennifer said. "Where else could you get away with hair like that?"

"New York?"

"Really?" Jennifer said. "I'm not too up on fashion, I guess."

"This fashion isn't exactly new -- wait. What year are you from?"

"Seventy-two," Jennifer said. "I guess I gave myself away?"

Priestly grinned. "A little. Punk doesn't really get going for another, like, five years or so for you."

"And I'll be at Harvard then, hopefully," Jennifer said. "So I'm thinking it will be punk-free."

"Harvard. That's quite a goal you got there. My five year plan involves working in my friend's sub shop."

"But your plan is a lot more crazy-hair friendly," Jennifer said.

"Very true. And it probably involves more free food."

"Unless I take up a life of cafeteria thievery," Jennifer said. "Which, given my big goal, would be a little silly."

"Which begs the question: what's your big goal?"

"Lawyer," Jennifer said.

"Ah, but what kind of lawyer?"

"Criminal," Jennifer said. "But hoping for public defender."

"Well, that's at least way more noble than a lot of lawyers get."

"Yeah, the profession gets a little maligned," Jennifer admitted.

"Maybe it's 'cause so many of 'em end up politicians?"
