LBJ Campfire, Thursday Night

Sometime during the day, Sam had come to a sad realization - he hadn't had nearly enough s'mores for the amount of time they'd been out at the cabins. When the evening rolled around and the sun finally went down, he lit the cabin's campfire and set himself up with all the necessary supplies, to cook for himself and for anyone else who sat down.

It wasn't long before he figured out that his marshmallow roasting stick was also good for keeping tiny moose away from the fire. It was kind of amazing how this place still found ways to weird him out, even after all this time.

"So are you feeding the moose?" Dean asked as he wandered over. "Meese? Mooses?" He shrugged. "Hunter thinks they're all cat toys anyway."

"You know, I couldn't figure out what that plural was, either."

"Sometimes the English language is just way too vague," Dean said.

"Totally. It's probably all the French influence."

"Or the Latin. Latin is a bitch."

"I . . . really wouldn't know. I took Spanish."

"I am certainly not feeding the moose," Sam said. "I'm trying to keep them from setting themselves on fire. Luckily, Scout's been perfectly happy keeping his distance. The last thing I need is him going crazy."

"But you are feeding your big brother, right?" Dean asked, sitting down beside Sammy and reaching for one of the sticks.

"I suppose I can spare some food for you," Sam said, grinning and handing over the marshmallows.

"Damn straight," Dean told him as he took the marshmallows and stuck three on the stick at once. "So how's it going being in a cabin with six girls and a douchebag?"

Sam snickered. "The girls are pretty nice, so it's not so bad," he said. "Chuck hasn't been bugging me too much. At least, not more than I can handle."

"You're calling yourself a moose now?" Chuck asked. "Pretty accurate description."

"No I was calling the moose moose," Dean said in the kind of voice he would use to explain things to a two year old like Gracie. "Really, that's the best you can bring?"

"You're not worth my best," Chuck replied.

Dean snorted. "Yeah, keep telling yourself that."

"I haven't exactly heard any zingers coming from you," Chuck said. "So I'm hoping you haven't been using your best on me either."

Rose glanced at Dean then back towards Sam with a grin. "So you have to be Dean, huh?"

"That I would be," Dean said with a smile. "Should I be worried that my reputation seems to be preceeding me?"

"Your brother mentioned you," she said. "Something about too many hair products..."

"Yeah, like he doesn't use any at all to keep that mop under control," Dean said.

"Said it was all natural," Rose teased.

This was the other TA from Spy Games. And...Sam's brother? Karla figured it might be nice to go introduce herself, especially since she might be asking him for computer help, if Professor Brennan had anything to said about it.

"Ummm, hi, I'm Karla," she said, acutely aware she was still wearing her Widows Weeds.

"Hi," Dean said. "You're in Spy Games, right? The one with the head through the safe thing? I'm Dean."

"Whatever works," she shrugged. "Watching the mechanisms helped me learn. It's the first time I ever picked a lock. Anytime I wanted in somewhere, I simply passed through."
