Second Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Due to Skrull invasions and cabin living, Tony was now three weeks behind on the best vampire detective show on syndicated TV, Darkest Night. And this Wednesday was the season finale.

So Tony picked up a box of goodies from J, GOB and settled in the second floor common room with pastries, popcorn and a bomb bottle of cola to catch up on the episodes he'd missed. Pastries for eating, popcorn for throwing at the screen. Given that the first episode he was watching featured a zombie invasion, he was going to need a lot of popcorn.

"Come on, are you serious? No zombie's that tough!"

"Baltimore," Jack said quickly. "We have a place on the harbor -- it's very nice."

He studied her studying the popcorn. "Would I have met your new friend?"

"Let's see, you were at the Magic Reserves thing, where I met him--" Which she remembered now, after Tony mentioned it over ice cream with Merlin. "Sooo, tall guy, Zack? Tall, black hair, really blue eyes?" There might be a littttle bit of gushing on the eyes, there.

"I met him waiting for the shuttle," Jack said. He hadn't been impressed. "He likes killing things. I didn't notice his eyes."

"He's a soldier, yeah," Dinah agreed. And yay not noticing the eyes! More Zack for her! Well. Maybe. Don't get ahead of yourself, Lance. "We're in a lot of the same classes and other groups together. He's been really nice."

It would have been almost impossible for Jack not to notice the undercurrent in her tone there, and he gave her an amused, fluttery look. "I hope he keeps being nice, then."

Dinah ducked her head, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear. "Uh-hunh." She cleared her throat, and asked, "So, what floor did you end up on?"

"Right here," Jack said, biting back his smile. "I'm in 222, with Esmerelda Weatherwax. Where are you?"

"Up one floor, 312," Dinah said, recovering some of her composure. "I don't know Esmerelda. Pretty name, though. My roomie's Claire Butler, she's new too. My last roommate graduated a couple weeks ago."
