Karla was nervous. Well, that wasn't much of a surprise. Karla had been nervous all day. But this was a new and different kind of nervous. Now, she was about to host a party, which she had never done, in a world that was still foreign to her, and for many girls she did not know very well. It was enough to unsettle even the strongest nerves.

Still, she though she was ready. Dinah had promised to provide her laptop for movies. Karla and Gabrielle had gone to Turtle's and purchased lots of ~~moddable~~ snacks, sodas, and lots of candy and chocolates. She'd bought make-up, since Dinah had mentioned it's importance in such matters, plenty of blankets and pillows to share, and several other sundries because she wasn't entirely certain what else would be needed, and wished to be prepared. Also, lots of booze, from her private Kaeleeran stash.

Most importantly, there was a small, neatly lettered sign on the door that said 'No Males Please.'

Well, she was as ready as she was ever going to be. "Kiss kiss," she muttered.

Fiona came, mostly because, well, she'd heard about slumber parties before, but she'd never been to one. She came in an old pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, the everpresent flower on her ear and went immediately over to Karla.

"Mind if I join you?"

"Fiona, hello! Thank you so much for coming. I know you've been pretty busy, so it's good to see you."

Karla liked Fiona, from what little interaction they'd had. Not to mention that she'd heard about Fiona's proficiency with weapons. If anything happened, Fiona would be a good person to have at her side.

She shook her head.

"Not that busy. And... thanks. This is my first slumber party."

"Not that busy, huh? That's not what the radio says, " Karla teased. "And don't worry--this is my first slumber party, too."

She blushed a little, but didn't comment.

"It looks pretty good. The couches look comfy."

Good job, Fiona. Could you have said anything dorkier?

"Well, they're not mine, but I'll take credit for them anyway," Karla laughed.

"I haven't come out to the common room much, so I think you can," she said, laughign a little herself.

"Well, in that case, thank you for appreciating my couches. I worked very hard to get just the right ones. Feel free to heap praise and thanks upon my head," Karla said with mock-earnestness.
