The Second Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Karla was nervous. Well, that wasn't much of a surprise. Karla had been nervous all day. But this was a new and different kind of nervous. Now, she was about to host a party, which she had never done, in a world that was still foreign to her, and for many girls she did not know very well. It was enough to unsettle even the strongest nerves.

Still, she though she was ready. Dinah had promised to provide her laptop for movies. Karla and Gabrielle had gone to Turtle's and purchased lots of moddable snacks, sodas, and lots of candy and chocolates. She'd bought make-up, since Dinah had mentioned it's importance in such matters, plenty of blankets and pillows to share, and several other sundries because she wasn't entirely certain what else would be needed, and wished to be prepared. Also, lots of booze, from her private Kaeleeran stash.

Most importantly, there was a small, neatly lettered sign on the door that said 'No Males Please.'

Well, she was as ready as she was ever going to be. "Kiss kiss," she muttered.

"Am I the first one here?" Triela asked when she arrived.

She looked rather rumpled. And while the rumpled coat and fly-away hair might not have looked all that bad, given that Triela showed herself in public with either of them she looked something of a mess.

But she was there, and that counted for something.

Leda was sober. But there was a bottle of Peca and another of Mad River in her jacket pocket that could help change that if neccesary.

"Karla, hey. What's up?"

Slight change in Mad River water, it's no longer as addictive as it is in canon, as it's filtered Mad River water.

Getting invited to parties or sleepovers just wasn't something that happened to Parker so she was shyly pleased to have got an invite this time.

"Hi," she said when she came in, then held her hands out palm down at chest height. "Am I doing this right?"

"Karla!" Emma sang, practically bouncing in with an armload of magazines and treats. "A little bird on my voicemail told me there was a party, darling."

A sleepover. Emma hadn't been to one since she was about seven. Considering the company, this would probably be much more entertaining.

Jennifer was a full pajamas sort of girl. Light cotton and purple, to be precise.

She wandered into the common room with a pillow and a book under one arm, and... her Criminal Justice evidence bag and a permanent marker held in the other.

Apparently, she couldn't just enjoy herself.

"Uhhh, hi?" she greeted.

Helen may or may not have ever met Karla - the mun's brain is gone until reports are done saw the sign on the door as she headed home from work and was intrigued enough to go in and see what was going on.

Eleanor didn't know what a slumber party was, but she was curious about it, so here she was, in white linen nightdress.

"Hullo. I hope I'm not intruding. I know Leda and she seems to know you."

She hoped it was enough to gain entrance.

Fiona came, mostly because, well, she'd heard about slumber parties before, but she'd never been to one. She came in an old pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt, the everpresent flower on her ear and went immediately over to Karla.

"Mind if I join you?"

Gabrielle had gone back to the room to put her scrolls away, deciding it wasn't worth the risk of possibly getting ink spilled all over things in case there was dancing. (What? Parties in the Amazon village always involved dancing.)

"Okay!" she announced a little breathlessly when she returned. "Are we good? I think we're good."

She was still in her usual skirt and brown top, though she'd foregone the boots and isn't intentionally stealing Tahiri's schtick, honest for the night. Hey. She slept in this.

Neither Firekeeper or Blind Seer could read the sign on the door, but the gathering of people had them (or, okay, mostly Firekeeper) curious about whether this was the party she'd heard about, and so wolf and wolf-girl wandered in to the room.

"Karla? Is your party?" she asked.

[Karla is of course welcome to tell Blind Seer he needs to be elsewhere, should she wish.]

Triela had actually had a silent debate with herself about whether it was worth attending considering her mood, but she'd said she would and she wasn't really injured, so that was that.

She hadn't change clothes, though, and that meant she was wearing the same suit she'd had on for the past two days. It was wrinkled, and her hair was a mess, and while neither of these facts might have meant much for most people, Triela almost never allowed herself to be seen in public in such a state.

At least she'd taken the time to change the bandage on her left hand.
