Deck \ Sunday \ Afternoon \ June 7

When you spend several long (but very, very good) days in your (or someone else's) dorm room, you almost got the urge to go outside and make sure the sun was still there. So, that's what Alex was doing. It was warm but not mind numbingly hot and the sun was coming and going between clouds.

He was pleasantly tired and content with nursing a bottle of water (yes, water) and smoking every so often. And hey, at least he could remember the past several days. He'd had weeks where he couldn't remember much at all before. This was an improvement.

Alex was actually having a good few days. That was a surprise to him most of all.

"It was chosen for me," he offered, shrugging. "I wasn't given much choice in the matter. It was either here or...who knows. Boot camp, maybe."

"I'm betting this place is more fun," Tony said. "Even with all the weird shit."

"Well, the last few days were a lot of fun," he said honestly. "Can't say I wanted to go anywhere then."

Tony grinned. "Yeah. Way better than a few months back when things were kind of the opposite for a few days."

"...opposite?" Well, that was enough to horrify him. "Like how opposite?"

"Not getting to finish," Tony said. "Interruptions, falling asleep, just any way that things could go wrong and they did. To everyone, every time. For, like, a week. Maybe this week was some kind of karmic payback for that."

Alex...winced. "Oh god, that would have been fucking horrific. I don't need to be a monk for any length of time."
