Deck \ Sunday \ Afternoon \ June 7

When you spend several long (but very, very good) days in your (or someone else's) dorm room, you almost got the urge to go outside and make sure the sun was still there. So, that's what Alex was doing. It was warm but not mind numbingly hot and the sun was coming and going between clouds.

He was pleasantly tired and content with nursing a bottle of water (yes, water) and smoking every so often. And hey, at least he could remember the past several days. He'd had weeks where he couldn't remember much at all before. This was an improvement.

Alex was actually having a good few days. That was a surprise to him most of all.

Griff was not stalking his roommate, thank you, he'd just unfortunately found himself yet again where his roommate was outside of their room.

And yes, he'd heard radio and cringed a lot at it.

"Nice day for it," Griff remarked with a slight smile.

"Which is why I'm out here," he said, actually returning Griff's smile. He'd heard radio too. He was barely resisting giving Griff a pat on the head. "Especially after all that time in the dorms."

Griff couldn't argue time in the dorms led to the need for sunshine. "Yeah, and thanks for being elsewhere." He couldn't not be polite.

"Hey, Griff," Dinah said, wandering over after a bit, giving him a smile. "How's it going?"

Judging by last night's Radio broadcast, very well. But judging by that, she'd had five threesomes and Eric vanderWoodsen was still a mouse somewhere.

"It's been interesting at the very least, Dinah," Griff replied, prepping to tease her a bit. "I hear you've become quite popular this week."

Griff lifted his hand in reply. "Ready for more of your show yet?"

After a few minutes, she finally gave Griff a wave from behind her book. She was very very glad she'd talked to Leto earlier. He'd given her some perspective.

Dinah had been happy to wake up in a lot more control of herself. Although she was going to have some awkward conversations in the next week or so, it wasn't anything she couldn't live with. She headed out to the deck to enjoy the sun, and nodded to the cute guy she didn't know. Who she didn't want to jump today. Yay. "Hey."

"Hey," Alex replied, giving Dinah a nod. "Welcome to the deck, population...a few."

Dinah grinned, and said, "Nobody needing the whole deck, right?" She kicked off her flip-flops and wandered to the edge, downwind of Alex. "I'm Dinah. We got a ton of people out here a couple times, for parties."

Dinah got a small wave and half a smile visible from behind a book. It was nice to see her, after all, but Fiona wasn't feeling up to being all that blatantly social.

Ellie knew she couldn't hide in her room forever, especially when the weather was so nice right now. So, after making sure to leave some food and milk for kitten!Eleanor, she wandered out to the deck.

"Nice weather, huh?" she said to Alex when spotted him. It seemed like a safe topic after this particular week.

"It's why I'm out here," he said, giving half a smile to Ellie. "And I think I need to give my room a break."

Buffy had spent a very good part of her week in her room, hiding out. The last time she'd ended up under the influence of something like that, she'd ended up nearly naked in the library and turned into a rat. She'd pass.

So it was a happy Buffy emerging from her room into the great outdoors. "People!"

Tony was feeling pretty good after this weekend. He grabbed a can of Coke and went to sit out on the deck.

Alex didn't recognize the new arrival but he did give Tony a nod. He could be polite. Ish.

"Toooony," Dinah said, skipping over to say hi. "Hi. Back to normal?"

Seeing quite a few people on the deck, she decided she'd been in her room too much of late and found an empty corner to curl up with a book. Maybe, eventually, she'd be up to dealing with other people, but for the moment she was fine with her corner and a book.

Aww, no greeting. Well, Alex was just going to wave with the hand holding a cigarette. He'd been the first on the deck, he felt like an ambassador.

Griff spotted her with her book, unsure if she was looking for company or not, but decided he could journey to her corner to say hello. On foot, even.

"Reading anything good?" It was the obvious choice for a conversation starter, yes.
