Fifth Floor Common Room, Friday Morning

Raven had had a much more restful sleep that night, thanks in no small part to the strength Professor Anakin had added to her shields. And he hadn't thrown her out of the school for using her powers on Chuck, so that lightened her mood as well. (And she hadn't listened to the radio and heard herself referred to as having a weird kink about doors.) She decided to test her shielding by venturing into the common room. Someone had left the TV on, and she found herself mesmerized by what was on, a strange show featuring a scruffy madman who had somehow schemed to turn the woman he loved into a mummy. He was currently fondling her bandage-wrapped form while her sister debated how to rescue her.

[ooc: No, really, I checked TV Guide, that's what's on right now.]

She looked at the screen thoughtfully before looking for a seat, intrigued.

"I suppose that would make sense."

It wasn't as if she hadn't done psychology in her studies. And the behavior was easily explained if you had any kind of knowledge of abnormal psychology.

"And they make programs about that?"

That got a twitch of a grin.

"Me neither. We just had books."

She nodded.

"Me neither. We didn't do literature back home."

Other than one very very heavily edited edition of the works of William Shakespeare.

"Now that's creepy," she said, leaning back on the couch.

"Minus the mystical studies, that's pretty much how home was for me."

That... sounded... vaguely familiar. Nothing exactly matched, but the sound of the word.

"California," she said, "but my mother was kind of strict about things."

"Oh yeah," Fiona agreed, pulling one of the pillows off of the couch to rest it on her stomach.

"What about you? Enjoying it?"

"What was that like? If you don't mind me asking?"

"...and they sent you here?"

She was mostly thinking of the alligators.

Fiona had been sent. Very clearly sent for a purpose. But as that purpose was a little more bizarre than most, she nodded with understanding.

"Okay. I get it. Don't worry about it."

"Everyone has stuff," she said vaguely with a gesture of one hand. Then she realized--

She leaned forward, one hand out.

"Fiona. If we haven't done this already."

The first few days were a little hazy, considering.

Touch made Fiona feel more easily.

"Nice to meet you."

[feel free to pick up what you like; not sure how her abilities work but yeah]

[she might notice then that Fiona feels absolutely nothing; now I know! thanks ^_^]

"Are you on this floor?" she asked, making herself pull her hand away. Thankfully, it went smoothly.

"I'm in 301," and she pointed down towards the stairs.

"I was just heading to the roof for a bit. Seemed more interesting to stay here, though."
