Fifth Floor Common Room, Friday Morning

Raven had had a much more restful sleep that night, thanks in no small part to the strength Professor Anakin had added to her shields. And he hadn't thrown her out of the school for using her powers on Chuck, so that lightened her mood as well. (And she hadn't listened to the radio and heard herself referred to as having a weird kink about doors.) She decided to test her shielding by venturing into the common room. Someone had left the TV on, and she found herself mesmerized by what was on, a strange show featuring a scruffy madman who had somehow schemed to turn the woman he loved into a mummy. He was currently fondling her bandage-wrapped form while her sister debated how to rescue her.

Romeo was just trying to find the coffee, really, but he ended up lingering to stare at the TV.

"Please tell me she's at least still alive."

"I believe so," Raven said. "He seems to think she can be restored. It is very odd. She hates him, but he loves her deeply." She couldn't get an empathic read on the television characters, but the show seemed to make their emotions clear.

Romeo filled his mug with coffee and added cream and sugar.

"I suppose restoring her might make her love him back," he said as he found his way to a seat. "She'd be grateful, at least."

"You!" she said, waving her spoon at him. "I demand a hug."

Romeo trotted over and stood with outstretched arms. "See how obedient I am?"

Ino wandered into the common room in search a) granola and b) fruit and sort of blinked at the screen.

"So. . .he's into necrophilia?"

Ewww.

"She is not quite dead yet," Raven said. "Just...mostly dead."

"Nooo," she said, chopping up a banana and glancing over her shoulder, "but if he wants to make her dead, isn't that a pretty good guess that he is? I mean, ew, mummy-sex."

"Sexual attraction to dead things," she said, making a face at him. "Which is, well, ewwww."

Robin yawned a bit when he came in. His internal clock had woken him and then he'd gone in search of people.

"Good morning." he waved. "What's this?" He pointed to the tv.

"Good morning," Raven said. "It is a television show of some sorts, a fantasy-drama. I believe it is entitled Enchanted. It is quite strange."

"It looks like it." Robin agreed. "Is he trying to raise someone from the dead?"

Turtle shuffled in, still in the PJs, having some time before class to get some breakfast. She gave a half-sleepy wave to the other people in the common room before locating some very delicious and insanely sugary chocolate bomb cereal, which she started eating without even putting milk in it, distracted a moment by the TV.

"It's way too early for this kind of thing," she decided, finally going to get a bowl.

"Good morning, Turtle," Raven said, recognizing her.

Turtle gave a smile back, always glad to be recognized, and it only took her a moment to remember the other girl, too. "Morning, Rachel. How's it going?"

"It's never too early for death and weird love stories and crazy-men with necrophilia kinks," she said cheerfully.

At least, that's what Ino was getting out of the movie. Weird, weird movie.

After a moment, Turtle shook her head. "No," she said, "no, I definitely think there's a too-early for that, but, hey, if that's what gets you going in the morning..."

She was still taking a seat in a chair with her cereal.

"I mean, whatever just happened to mindless cartoons in the morning, instead? Maybe some badly dubbed anime if you still need a certain quotient of weird."

She was on the way to the roof when she noticed the other girl, something about her calling Fiona's attention before the TV stole it away.

"...what on earth is going on on that screen?"

"I am not entirely certain," Raven said, "for the show was halfway done when I entered the room. I believe the scruffy man is quite insane, and he has entrapped the woman he loves in those bandages."

She looked at the screen thoughtfully before looking for a seat, intrigued.

"I suppose that would make sense."

It wasn't as if she hadn't done psychology in her studies. And the behavior was easily explained if you had any kind of knowledge of abnormal psychology.

"And they make programs about that?"

"Crazy men with necrophilia kinks," Ino carolled. "And apparently turning his One True Love into a mummy."

Hence the necrophilia, Ino.

Maron shuffled in, not long after Turtle, and rubbing her eyes sleepily.

At least she'd gotten dressed though.

". . .that's not normal," she noted, staring at the television.

"I did not think it was, either," Raven said. "This show is interesting, but quite strange."
