Fifth Floor Common Room, Friday Morning

Raven had had a much more restful sleep that night, thanks in no small part to the strength Professor Anakin had added to her shields. And he hadn't thrown her out of the school for using her powers on Chuck, so that lightened her mood as well. (And she hadn't listened to the radio and heard herself referred to as having a weird kink about doors.) She decided to test her shielding by venturing into the common room. Someone had left the TV on, and she found herself mesmerized by what was on, a strange show featuring a scruffy madman who had somehow schemed to turn the woman he loved into a mummy. He was currently fondling her bandage-wrapped form while her sister debated how to rescue her.

[ooc: No, really, I checked TV Guide, that's what's on right now.]

"But not boring," she pointed out, "which is usually my issue with television."

"It is a little slow sometimes," she had to admit as she glanced at the screen.

"I don't like just sitting 'round watching stuff," she explained. "So it's got to be really weird, or fascinating for me to stick around, and that doesn't happen that often."

It'd probably happen more if she gave it more of a chance, but Ino was sort of set in her television avoiding ways.

"We didn't have it in the house when I was growing up," she admitted, "so there's the exotic factor. But nothing so far has interested me."

She peered at the screen.

"...this might be an interesting psychological study, though."

She laughed. "Try and figure out what the writers were thinking with this?"

"Something like that," and she nodded.

"Do you think it's based on a true story?"
intraspective: (Get a load of this!)

...

"Now that," Ino mused, "would be quite interesting."

"I'd almost think it'd have to be," she said as she turned to the screen.

"After all, someone thought of it."
intraspective: (oh come on!)

"What? People aren't allowed to use their imaginations?" Ino teased.

She looked over at Ino.

"I'm sure whoever did it did. I wasn't saying someone didn't," she pointed out with a smile, "just that it's just as likely, maybe even more likely, that a sick mind came up with it first."

"Is it sick, to think bad things?" Ino asked, tilting her head at Fiona. "I mean, if you don't act on them, what's the harm?"

[identity profile] cutsthestrings.livejournal.com 2009-06-19 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
She huffed out a breath and shook her head. It wasn't aggravated; in fact, she was just the tiniest bit amused.

"Exactly. No harm. But someone who'd cause harm, well, they're more likely to think of it. Think... robbing a bank. Someone might, absently, figure out a brilliant way to rob a bank, but it's much more likely that someone who'd rob a bank would."

She turned to glance up at Ino.

"But there's nothing sick just thinking about it. Our minds come up with all manner of things."
