The Gym - Wednesday Afternoon

Rose hadn't been laying off training exactly, but getting to shoot in Criminal Justice today made her realise that she hadn't been working quuuuite as hard as she had been a few weeks ago.

Which was why she headed down to the gym after lunch, dropped her bag against the wall and started to work over the heavy bag over, punching and kicking slower at first and then faster and faster until she was working full out.

"I don't mind if you want to show me some of those movie moves," Rose said sweetly.

"You just wanna see me fail," he decided, grinning briefly. "So, you can get a good laugh. Don't you?"

"I'm hurt you'd think that," Rose said, looking down sadly.

"And I heard no denial." He shook his head just as sadly. "Don't believe I'm as tough as I look?"

"Does it matter how tough I think you are?" she asked curiously.

"No, but my ego appreciates it," he quipped easily. "Every ego likes a little boost."

"I'm sure you'd be plenty tough," Rose teased. "But I could still take you."

...that was supposed to be ego boosting somehow.

That wasn't an ego boost, that was a challenge. "Really?" Call him the skeptic.

"Probably," she said, smirking at the disbelief. She glanced over him. "Yeah, I think so, movie man."

"Uh huh." He shook his head. "I think your ego's getting a little out of control there, Rosie. You wanna wrestle with me? That right?"

"I'm up for it," Rose said with a shrug. She grinned at him. "But maybe you don't wanna lose to a girl, Hannie."

"Maybe I don't wanna hurt a girl," he countered. "Rosie."

"Awww, that's so sweet and chivalrous of you," she teased. "I think it just means you're afraid."

"Aww, I'm not afraid of anything," he said, matching her tone. "Least of all someone named after a flower."

Mmm, trash talk.

"Mean flower though," Rose told him. "And a Rose by any other name would hit as hard."

"I don't think you're a mean anything," he taunted.

Rose grinned. "And I think you're all talk."

"And I think that's a weak excuse," he replied. "People have used it before and eaten their words."

"Nah, I'm not hungry," Rose smirked. She moved out onto the mats. "Wanna try it?"

"I don't back down from challenges," he said, following her out onto the mats and stretching his arms again.

"Sure you're okay with trying to hit a girl?" she teased, turning to face him and ready to start.

"As long as you can take a punch, I don't mind it," he answered. "You think you can hit me?"

"I know I can," Rose said cockily, tossing her ponytail back over her shoulder. "Let's go for it."

"We'll see," he said, bouncing around on the mat to get a little more loose before he nodded. "I'm good to go."

She glanced at him then grinned. "Awesome." And she bounced forward, throwing two quick punches, more to test his reflexes then to really try to hit.
