4th Floor Common Room - Wednesday Evening

Rose had a box of donut holes and some coffee on the table in front of her.  Some of the donuts smelled like maple syrup, but they tasted good which was all that really mattered.

The TV was already on when she came into the Common Room, and Rose didn't change the channel from The Mountie Show quite yet.  The Mountie was cute, after all, and if he would just wise up and kiss his partner, maybe he'd relax a little.  But if he didn't, at least he looked really good in that red uniform.

She lounged comfortably on the couch, typing an email with half her attention and watching the Mounties with the other half.  Weeks without classes were seriously nice.

"I'm sorry," Zayne said. He wasn't sure what was so bad about a wedding, but when it's the answer to 'what's wrong,' it couldn't be a good thing. "Do you want to talk about it? You don't have to if you don't want to."

Zayne only knew Hurley from one class in the Spring. He wasn't going to pry if it wasn't welcome.

"There's not much to say," Hurley said. "It's not like, you know, I want to be marrying her, cause dude, whoa, no and stuff. But... I don't want her to be married to some random guy just to break this stupid curse, even though I guess she really wants to break it so she can feel normal and I can't really get in the way of that cause I think that'd make her happy and... yeah."

Way to ramble, Hurley.

"Feelings can get way too complicated sometimes," Zayne said, shaking his head. "I guess the positive is that you're a good enough guy to think about her feelings, too. So you should be able to at least feel a little happy for her with breaking the curse, right?"

Hurley nodded. "Yeah. I'm just trying to... get this dumb feeling out of the way so it doesn't... complicate stuff when she gets back."

"When is she coming back?" Zayne asked. For Hurley's sake, Zayne almost wished it wasn't too soon. He didn't think Hurley would be able to do that in a couple days or whatever.
