4th Floor Common Room - Saturday Evening

At the picnic yesterday, Rose had discovered a major, major flaw in Zayne's planning skills.

Namely he didn't know the problems that would obviously occur if you went through SHARK INFESTED WATERS in a little boat.

Obviously there needed to be a showing of Teeth ~~Jaws~~ to correct this issue.

And that was what Rose was here to do. She'd found a copy of the movie and was making popcorn (the old-fashioned way cause the microwave was evil). Sure, she'd been promised snacks, but someone who had never watched Teeth might not know about the importance of popcorn.

[This was NEVER in the wrong place! *whistles*]

"Would you believe both?" Zayne asked.

"Only for you," she teased, flicking the movie on.

"Is that because you find me trustworthy or because I really seem that unlucky?" Zayne checked.

"Or maybe because I wanna mock you for it a lot," Rose pointed out. "So many choices."

"Mock away," Zayne said. "I can take it."

Rose almost pouted as she looked at him. "But that takes all the fun away."

"It's not my fault I'm used to mocking," Zayne said. "I guess you're just going to have to find some other way to have fun."

"This is fine," she said easily. "Besides there are fake sharks coming up."

"The shark is fake?" Zayne asked. "Well, that just ruins the movie for me already."

"Also? The Titanic sinks," Rose told him.

Thereby actually spoiling someone for that movie.

"What's the Titanic?" Zayne asked.

That joke probably worked better with someone from this planet.

Also with someone who made the Rose connection and followed it up.

Rose shook her head. "We're going to have to have a ton more movie nights, aren't we," she said.

"I guess we're going to have to," Zayne said. "Or else I'm never going to understand anything you say."

"We could talk about classes and stuff instead," Rose said, making a face.

"Aww, I'm just teasing you," Zayne said, giving an apologetic smile. "But movie nights would actually be a good thing for me. It should help me understand the culture even better."

Rose chuckled, reaching to steal some chocolate. "On second thought, maybe I should just keep confusing you and never show you the references," she teased back.

"I'd still gain valuable knowledge," Zayne said optimistically. And then he thought about it for a second. "Well, hopefully. You could just show me bad movies so I get nothing out of it. Except for confusing conversations with you, of course."

"Which is a valuable gain by any measure," she teased.

"I haven't complained about it yet," Zayne said. "And blank stares don't count as complaints."

"Good thing too," Rose said. "Cause with all the new kids coming and going around here, I think blank stares are the flavour of the week."

"But that's what makes the start of a new session so much fun," Zayne said. "Warning people about things, watching them not believe you, and then finding out that you were telling the truth the whole time? Any of us could teach a workshop on that now."

"You think the new kids would believe you more in a class than just talking?" she asked. "Or maybe if we could use that room that makes things and not tell them it's fake."

"Probably not," Zayne said. "If something sounds crazy to someone, it would probably sound just as crazy coming from a teacher," Zayne said. "But I think pretty much everyone still could teach something like that after a few months. It just might not do any good."

Like Serena said, if there was nothing else to teach the new kids about, there was sex pollen.

"Everyone's gotta find out for themselves?"

"That seems to be what it all comes down to," Zayne said with a shrug.
