Salle, Monday morning

Blair was gone. This was bothering Serena more than she'd care to admit, looking across her the room they'd shared in the cabins to see an empty bed. It was what had gotten her up early that morning, grabbing her gear and heading to the salle. At least if she was going to have things on her mind, she could get a bit of practice in. It would help her focus. Help her not think about her best friend and the fact they'd not-yet worked things out here. That they'd left things on bad terms.

Or at least, she hoped it would.

"You know the drill by now."

At least Arthur didn't look pleased about his own pun, this time.

She agreed, not knowing the pun at all, before slipping back and starting in. Fiona took the time to show all of them, moving quick and smooth; she didn't want him thinking she didn't remember everything he'd taught her, after all.

When she was done, the sword was lowered and she gave him a hopeful smile.

"Also, I'm sorry about missing Reserves last week. Griff agreed to show me karate so we went and did that."

"Decent," was his only verdict.

He'd actually probably have been more encouraging if he didn't know she was insanely good, but he wasn't about to push beyond that. "Karate," Arthur echoed, though, "That's a kind of hand-to-hand-- is he a master of some kind?"

Pretty, pretty military history.

"He's of a reasonably high level of mastery," she said with a nod.

"It has it's own drills, a little like this."
