Blair was gone. This was bothering Serena more than she'd care to admit, looking across her the room they'd shared in the cabins to see an empty bed. It was what had gotten her up early that morning, grabbing her gear and heading to the salle. At least if she was going to have things on her mind, she could get a bit of practice in. It would help her focus. Help her not think about her best friend and the fact they'd not-yet worked things out here. That they'd left things on bad terms.

Or at least, she hoped it would.

It had taken Alex all of ten minutes to pack and then unpack. Unpacking, in this instance, meant kicking his bag under his bed and leaving it there. Once that was done, he wandered down to the main campfire, a place he'd frequented during the previous trip to the cabins. Claiming a spot on the first night seemed like the right thing to do so he settled down, legs stretched out in front of him.

The clouds looked a little threatening but rain would only bother him if he lit a cigarette and had it go out. He'd just have to light another or something. Not like it hadn't happened before. For now, he'd take the warm, cloudy night and his last bit of relaxation before classes started again.

With it being warm (but not too hot) and lacking rain for the moment, Hannibal decided to take up some space on the deck this evening. He was mentally tired, confused, moody and just grateful for some fresh air and cooler weather. Hannibal had his feet propped up on one chair and his eyes closed, hat pulled low over his eyes while he relaxed.

He thought about building a fire or something but decided he was too lazy for that. He'd just sit here and enjoy the setting sun and darkening sky.

It didn't matter what floor Serena was actually supposed to be on, the first floor common room was the best. Not only was there skeeball, but there were arcade games. While she might have been the Upper East Side's unofficial Rock Band champion, she was pretty damn good at Time Crisis.

Yes, she had to find this Harper girl that was bothering Eric, and she should find Blair and try to talk to her, but right now all she wanted was an arcade game or two.

It was a quiet night. Just after midnight, a steady rain had started falling, drenching the island quickly and showing no sign of slowing. A few hours later, at 2am, the peace of the night was broken when the fire alarm started blaring. It would shrilly blare, stop and then repeat the same shrill blare two seconds later. And it was not going to stop until the all clear was given.

Thus, all the students had to carry their tired selves from their snuggly significant others or their snuggly beds to go wait IN THE RAIN on the dorm lawn. The fire department was making sure all the students were a safe distance away from the school so there were no awnings to hide under. All the students would be stuck out in the steady rain.

The fire department headed into the building but this could take awhile. Enjoy your fire drill, kids!

[IT'S FIRE DRILL TIEMS! Just remember it's raining but it's warm. Have fun! See here for fire drill details! And take a look here for our previous fire drill!]

Since his first class was tomorrow, Alex decided to venture out of his cabins (seriously, CABINS) to the main campfire. He almost expected some counselor to already be there, guitar in hand, asking him to sing Kumbaya. Mercifully, the main campfire was devoid of anything but a few logs and the actual fire.

Alex took a seat and tossed his cigarettes next to him. He'd need those shortly, he was sure. For now, he was just going to enjoy the quiet and the mild weather.

He'd survived three days in this place so far. He was hesitant to call that a win.

[open campfire is always open!]
