Salle, Monday morning

Blair was gone. This was bothering Serena more than she'd care to admit, looking across her the room they'd shared in the cabins to see an empty bed. It was what had gotten her up early that morning, grabbing her gear and heading to the salle. At least if she was going to have things on her mind, she could get a bit of practice in. It would help her focus. Help her not think about her best friend and the fact they'd not-yet worked things out here. That they'd left things on bad terms.

Or at least, she hoped it would.

Serena had a minimum of protective gear on, holding her sabre and working on form. Hair pulled messily up, she bit her lip as she worked out facing the mirror. It was all about balance, she tried to remember. A little while in, and her lunges weren't looking that shabby anymore.

"Hey," Dinah greeted Serena on her way by to get her sword. "Not-as-new-person whose name I don't know." She picked up her sword and stretched out her shoulders, giving the other girl a smile. "I'm Dinah. You've done this before?"

"Not very much," she admitted with a smile. "I'm Serena, though I like the title. It's good. Anyway. We did a couple weeks in phys ed one year at school, but I'm taking a sword skills class. I thought I should practice, or I'll probably get my butt handed to me."

Arthur was a little surprised to catch anyone else this early in the salle at his usual time, but he wasn't about to make a thing of it. Instead, he came in as he generally did, Merlin at his side as he went to pick a practice blade for the day.

His students were liable to show up any minute, after all. He considered his blade once, and judged it worthy.

Well, someone needed to keep up the care of Arthur's weapons, you know. Even if he was perfectly capable of it himself.

Then again, how could Francine teach him more things he was never meant to know, if they did that?

Serena had seen Arthur in here before, but didn't actually know who he was. It didn't stop her from smiling sheepishly at the other early arrivers. "Is it cheesy to ask if you come here often?"

Arthur paused in his motions to cast her a look. "I do come here often," he said, sounding mostly utterly confused.

No Necklace in Dinah's room this morning when she checked; just her usual comm necklace. Which she was now wearing, since it did remind her of home.

"Morning, Arthur." Dinah was humming The Killers under her breath as she headed for her usual practice sword. Relief does that to her.

"Dinah, good to see you're still out and about," Arthur said, ever the disinterested one. He rolled his shoulders once. "Haven't gotten attacked by any items, have you."

Since she had been reminded of him when she texted Merlin, and because she'd been in no shape to talk to anyone she didn't have to this weekend, Francine braved Fandom and Murphy's Law to actually send Arthur a text. Deliberately and all.

"Morning," and she headed straight for the practice weapons.

The stuffed bantha was back to being a stuffed bantha today, and Tahiri was profoundly glad about that. (The flight sim was a different story.)

Knowing what Monday mornings at the salle tended to be, she hadn't brought any remotes with her today, just her lightsaber, clipped to her belt, and the gaderffii she'd promised to show Zack in hand. The gaderffii was set aside while she waited, in favor of activating her lightsaber and going through a few forms.

"Tahiri!" Zack had, by this point, found a safe place to put Deadpool's swords. They were no-bad-wrong and he wasn't carrying them around all morning until class if he could help it at all. He did, however, have his own sword at his back. He had noooo issues with his own sword, thank goodness.

"You survived the weekend too, huh?"

Zack was tired as he hauled his butt into the salle this morning before class. There were also twigs in his hair. Ignore those. And if anyone would be so kind as to ignore that he was holding Deadpool's swords at arms' length and trying to look not-too-traumatized about that, and the fact that he was wearing his armor overtop a button-down dress shirt and some cargo pants, and--

Actually, if Zack could just crawl under something and never come out again, he'd be good with that, too.

Mostly to keep from laughing.

Which he was doing a very poor job of. "Did you decide to change up your routine and show up cheerful today, or did I just miss some fortunate accident?"

Just because she was cutting down didn't mean she'd pass up the chance to indulge with a friend.
