weetuskenraider: (Not Quite Smiling)

Wendy the Werewolf Stalker Campfire, Tuesday Early Evening

Okay, so she hadn't been spending that much time at her cabin, but Tahiri was putting in an appearance tonight. There was a decent assortment of hot dogs and s'more fixings laid out as dictated by the Unofficial Official Law of Campfires, and a fire crackling away in the firepit.

As for Tahiri, she was sitting with her back against a log, not really paying attention to the datapad on her lap; she was more preoccupied with using the Force to idly create shapes in the smoke from the campfire. Spirals, vaguely animal-looking objects, anything really, but a lot of starfighters. She kept coming back to those, for some reason.

[OOC: Up a little early to account for people (including me) hitting up HP midnight showings tonight . . .]

It was a little surprising to hear that, when she would have thought it went without saying. "Of course," she said simply. "He's my brother."

She was never using past tense there. That wasn't changing.

Jaina, who hadn't really been that teary but felt like she was stuck on that setting, was beginning to silently will Tahiri not to cry, because she didn't want to. Especially not in public.

"You seemed to be doing pretty well," she said gently. She'd honestly thought this Tahiri was fine there. She was dating- though okay, suddenly certain things made a lot more sense- she actually smiled... Or maybe Jaina'd had blinders on herself, she wasn't sure anymore.

Jaina's eyebrows arched. "You've having them too?" she asked, but shook her head, focusing on the main topic here. "You know he wouldn't want you not to be okay."

She kind of liked it better when they weren't talking about her. Even when she was more open, she was still at least a little avoidant. "I think I'm getting there," she admitted.

"There's no time limit on this," she said, remembering what John had told her there. "And there's been so much going on... it distracts from getting over things, I think." Which, she'd almost rathered for a year, but hey.

Jaina couldn't help it. She couldn't not be glad that her brother in any reality was alive. "Don't judge him too harshly yet," she advised.

Jaina smiled more openly at that. "I like having him around. And it sounds like that one needed some happy."

And there went the smile. "Uh. Not so great, actually."

"That bad," Jaina nodded. Not that it was easy to tell someone this, even if she did seem to bedoing better than her version. "Things are getting out of hand."

This would be what we call an understatement. Really, Jaina just didn't want to freak her out on top of everything else.

"No idea. Any clues, if you have them, would be appreciated." And if she had them, she'd likely be headed right back home to see what she could do. Jaina was maybe a little worried.

"Karla?" She'd heard the name, but never actually met her, so she had to be a little curious.

"And she thinks she can help?" Jaina'd just decided Karla was good.

While not the most optimistic prospect, by now she'd learned when to focus on the positive. "One step at a time," she said. "Work on the helping, and then see where you stand from there. Let me know if there's anything I can do." Again. Worried.
