Third Floor Common Room, Wednesday Evening

For the second night in a row, Bobby had set up a common room with his Go-Between Guy DVDs. This time, however, he'd also ordered a bunch of Chinese food- enough to share if anyone came by. He might not be able to cook, but at least he could feed people this way. It was only fair considering the number of times he'd had others' cooking.

"I liked what I saw last night. What was it called? The Introductory Premise Establishment?" Something like that. She'd been too hopped up on sugar to remember what she'd read on the liner notes. "Anyway, yes. I have no objection to watching more."

"I haven't seen it before, but I'm really enjoying it. Definitely gets two thumbs up," said Harper.

Funny, Gabrielle got what that meant. Convenient, huh?

"Isn't it fun?" she asked gleefully, humming the theme song tunelessly to herself. "I could get used to this."

"There's a lot of cool shows I've totally missed out on," said Harper. "Back home, my grandma never used to let me watch TV, so I always had to sneak over to my friend Alex's house. Then Alex left and it was a lot harder to explain to her parents why I was always around."

"Well, at least you had TV," Gabrielle told her. "We don't even have electricity yet. If I had this back home . . . I don't know if I'd ever have left to travel with Xena. Huh."

She chewed on her knuckle thoughtfully. "Maybe it's a good thing I didn't, then."

"Wow, I don't know how I'd manage without electricity," said Harper. "No irons, no garment steamers, no sewing machines... I'd be a complete fashion disaster!"

". . . right," said the girl who wore a bilious green sports bra. "I think you could manage with a little adjustment. You know, some ingenuity. We got along just fine, and you should have seen some of the clothes around in my time."

Gabrielle. Burlap-looking peasant skirt and aforementioned BGSB. Not a stellar example here.

"Hmmm," said Harper, looking thoughtful. "Completely handmade clothes. It sounds like a challenge, but I can knit. I'm sure I'd manage and might even be able to come up with something."
