Fourth Floor Common Room [evening]

Sookie had been struck by the slightest bout of homesickness earlier, which, as it had her first night in Fandom, drove her to go to the store and return to her common room kitchen with armfuls of supplies to make banana pudding.

She was fairly satisfied with her first batch, which was set aside in a two-quart dish and from which she was sampling while she carefully whisked over a double boiler. She had no idea who was going to eat all this, but it was like a rule -- you couldn't make just a little of this stuff.

She was pretty sure she could find someone to eat it. It wasn't like people around here hated sweets or anything (though she imagined that'd be an awful life.) In the meantime, she stirred, pausing to turn the television onto some old sitcom, just for background noise.

[omg I don't even like bananas and I want to make that, now. totes open. come eat pudding.]

Angela scrambled towards the food and ate it quickly. "Don't flick the pudding at me because I'll have to flick back."

"Feel free to dish me up a lot, then," he said. "Or, I mean, I can. I just didn't wanna wrestle in while you were cooking."

"Thanks," he said and did so, getting a bowl and some pudding. "Where'd you learn to cook? One of those cooking shows that seem to run nonstop?"

"Huh." He nodded. "If I was in the kitchen with a parent, they'd throw a spoon at you and tell me to get out because I was doing more harm than good. And I liked to eat things before dinner."

"Greater good?" He had no idea. "Why?"

"Ah." Well, of course, now it made more sense. "I thought you were like the taster in case it was poisoned or something."
