It wasn't that she was particularly eager to socialize, no.

It was more of the fact that Yei had been wanting to go out (and for longer than just an hour, honestly) and so Hinata had looked around the room she and Hoshi shared, and gave in to the whims of her cat.

(Yes, that was a bit sad. Hinata was aware of that.)

Luckily for her, Yei was perfectly content to explore the common room while Hinata curled up on one of the couches to read.

"I work on the ones that I might need." She was learning to fight hand to hand, after all!

Hinata sippped her tea thoughtfully.

"H-How do you know what ones you might need?"

Triela snorted unhappily at that question. "You find out that you need them too late." And you failed a mission.

"Then," Hinata suggested mildly, "wouldn't it be p-prudent to address what weaknesses you know beforehand? Just in case?"

"Everyone doesn't know more things than they know," Triela pointed out. "And you can't learn everything. So how do you choose?"

"Make a list?" she suggested. "And work down that."

"So try to learn everything you don't know already?" Triela asked. She sipped her tea thoughtfully. That sounded... impractical.

"No," she said patiently, "that way you can better decide which to do in wh-what order of importance."

Impractical. Coming from the girl who had to lose to understand that she needed training. Right.

"And how do you know what will matter most?" Triela asked. "You'd have to be able to predict the future to do that, right?" She wasn't really arguing, she was just curious.

"Absolutely," she said, giving up. "By a-all means, study little and mess up on m-missions so you may learn what to study."

Triela sighed. "No need for sarcasm," she chided, her voice still friendly. "I study quite a bit, after all." She just tended to keep her focus rather narrow.
