It wasn't that she was particularly eager to socialize, no.

It was more of the fact that Yei had been wanting to go out (and for longer than just an hour, honestly) and so Hinata had looked around the room she and Hoshi shared, and gave in to the whims of her cat.

(Yes, that was a bit sad. Hinata was aware of that.)

Luckily for her, Yei was perfectly content to explore the common room while Hinata curled up on one of the couches to read.

Hurley wandered in, a little bummed by his earlier conversation with Tahiri.

"Oh, hey Hinata," he said. "You, uhhh, enjoy the rolls?"

She gave him a soft smile.

"Hello Hurley," Hinata said, "I did, th-thank you. Have you been keeping busy since then?"

"Oh, yeah," Hurley said. "I mean, work and stuff. Yeah"

Her eyebrows drew together.

"Is there something w-wrong?"

"Oh, no," Hurley said. "Just... Tahiri got back today and was all... she had some sad stuff happen to people."

"I'm sorry for that," she answered. "Is there a-anything I can do to help you?"

Hurley shook his head. "Thanks, though. I think she just needs time and stuff."

"I d-didn't," Hinata began, stopped, and made herself go on. "Didn't ask if I could help her."

Another pause.

"I asked if I c-could help you. You're down."

Hurley smiled a little. "Just been rough week or so," he said.

Hinata nodded.

"If there is a-anything I can do, please let me know," she said. "Did you want the r-remote? I'm not watching anything at the moment."

"Thanks, Hinata," Hurley said. "I don't even know what's on, on Sundays. I guess... maybe we could just talk? About... happy stuff."

"As you wish," she said lightly, then added: "Yei is c-considering a plan to tackle your feet."

Yei was, indeed, down low, ears forward and wriggling her butt while she inched forward slightly. And slightly. And just a little more...

"Awwww," Hurley said, bending down to look at Yei. "She's seriously adorable, dude."

"Hey," Triela waved on one of her regular trips to the common room to brew some tea. "You look comfortable over there."

"Hello," she said, looking up from her book and smiling. "I am, I guess? The couches are fairly c-comfortable."

"Would you like some tea to go along with your book? I was just about to make some." And it was just as easy to make enough for two.

"If you wouldn't mind," Hinata answered, tucking a bookmark in to mark her place. "How have you been?"

"Good," Triela said as she started getting out the necessary implements. "Thinking about some things I've learned recently. You?"

She wondered if she ought to get up to help. It would be the polite thing to do, but it wasn't like tea was particularly difficult...

"Quiet," she decided upon. "I am glad that the island has g-gone back to normal."

"Normal for here, you mean?" Triela asked with a quick grinning glance over her shoulder.

"If this was n-normal for everywhere," Hinata said, bemused, "then I think the universes would implode."

Or... perhaps their heads.

"Yeah." Triela shook her head. "I'm starting to worry because I'm getting used to it."

"Perhaps that's a good thing?" Was the mild suggestion. "So that you adjust f-faster?"

"Maybe. What about you? Do you think you're getting used to it?"

Hinata considered that seriously.

"Probably not as much as I could be," she allowed finally. "It doesn't tend to affect me d-directly often."
