It wasn't that she was particularly eager to socialize, no.
It was more of the fact that Yei had been wanting to go out (and for longer than just an hour, honestly) and so Hinata had looked around the room she and Hoshi shared, and gave in to the whims of her cat.
(Yes, that was a bit sad. Hinata was aware of that.)
Luckily for her, Yei was perfectly content to explore the common room while Hinata curled up on one of the couches to read.
