3rd Floor Common Room [Tuesday, Late Morning]

Effy... was not generally a morning person, by any stretch of the imagination. Not unless she hadn't yet been to bed.

So it was mid-morning at least on a day she didn't have a workshop to think about, before she surfaced enough to pull on some clothes and bothered to find something to eat: toast. Well, toast and tea. A master chef in the making, this one.

The TV was on, for all she claimed she hated that sort of thing. She was watching for the mocking potential of their little dramas. That was all.

[[bored bored, and so open!]]

"Ah. Canadian TV," Layla said flopping on a couch and kicking her feet up. "Truly nothing finer. They have a marathon of the gas station show after this."

"TV sitcom," Layla said with a smirk. "Depicting wacky rural life in Canada. No teenage angst in that one though."

"It's funnier than most sitcoms," Layla said with a shrug. "I'd say better but that's just my humble opinion."

"Quality of a show is more opinion than fact," Layla smirked. "And yeah, it's not like there's anything better going on at the moment. It's kind of nice just to veg out."

"You're up early," Alex said, having just been wandering around looking for something interesting to do. Considering he'd really just come down from the roof a few hours ago, going back up seemed silly but that's where'd he'd been headed. "Turning over a new leaf?"

"Well if you're lucky tomorrow all the girls will turn into guys and give you something to do," Layla stretching her arms. "Or rain cheescake."

"And you never shared that with me?" he asked, affecting mock shock. "That's hurtful."

"Hope for both," Layla chuckled. "Then it'd be delicious as well as organically confusing."

"Knowledge is power," he answered and if she was up cooking, he was going to take up space on that couch. It was familiar, after all. "Also, I could have come bothered you when I couldn't sleep. Entertainment for me."

[identity profile] fratboybitch.livejournal.com 2009-08-18 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"What've you got?" he wondered, peeking out from the sprawled position on the couch to see what she was doing. "Anything gourmet?"

[identity profile] iknowstuff.livejournal.com 2009-08-18 12:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"You should've hung with me," Layla replied. "I put out a whole bunch of bras for them in the lobby. The parade of confused boys was worth the cost."

And he was surprised she'd offer. "If you've got extra toast, I can take it off off your hands. No tea, though. Ew."

"Next time I'll give you a heads up," Layla said getting up from the couch. "I'm grabbing some cereal. You want any?"
