Third Floor Common Room, Late Sunday Morning

Kate had partaken in free common room breakfast on her first morning at Fandom High, so today she thought she’d return the favor.

Unfortunately pancakes were beyond her abilities and she didn’t want to call her brother for help, so she made a safe fruit salad instead. There was a big bowl of it on the kitchen counter, and it was meant for anyone who happened to make their way into the common room, new and old students alike.

She also had all her leftover chocolate coins in a smaller bowl on the table.

"Bobby, Bobby, Bobby," Layla said. "I thought there was trust between us. A bond even."

"You know stuff about me and I don't know very much about you," Bobby pointed out. "That's hardly fair. For all I know, you could be a compulsive liar!"

"Have I told you anything false yet?" Layla asked.

"You could have. I'm a very trusting person. How would I know if you had or not?" He was teasing, but then... she probably knew that.

"Bobby, you and I are from different timelines," Layla said in an assuring tone. "If I messed you up somehow that would affect another Layla down the road. I wouldn't do that."

Unless of course it was absolutely necessary.

"Well, all right," Bobby said with an overdramatic sigh. "I can accept that."
